Welding cart got a boo boo. Maybe the 300 cu.ft. Tank had something to do with it. Time for an upgrade!AD174BB3-E5E0-433F-BFD2-2C0FC3D888C2.jpg AF2C2500-2C70-472B-BD0B-09181857FD7C.jpg

Certainly an upgrade! This reminds me to ask if anyone knows Millermatic 250 welders. I'm hesitant to ask anyone at work for fear they'd go buy it out from under me. Yes there are those types out there.
Anyway can get one in excellent condition with spare bottle the cart and everything for $1,200.00
I tried to look for cost of a new one but think it might be discontinued.

Hah, I have that exact welding cart. You're definitely braver than I am putting effort into it. I have a size down gas bottle and it feels like it's gonna fall apart. The bottle is held on with a ratchet strap at the moment because the chains do nothing

Looks like it was built between 1991 - 2001.
The comparable replacement is the 252 at about $4K.
Sounds like a nice deal especially with 2 bottles & cart.

They've been peeking in the window at it for the last year wondering why it isn't lime green yet and they're not picking it up until it is.

    I got lucky.

No, not that kind but... :fingerscrossed:

My wife was already home when I got home so I drove the Highlander to do the math drop off then went to the dealership. My kid was supposed to work from 5-9* but the rain said not gonna happen so he picked me up and drove me home. Got in the truck and was back at math 8 minutes early.

*he said that someone rented the place and that 850 people were supposed to be there. Not sure if they get to reschedule, if they get a refund or if they're screwed because you can't control the weather.

Yeah thanks Rusty. I did find one just now on ebay and it look like been to hell and back, no bottle or regulator not even a plug on the end and asking 1500 so think I'll do alright for 1,200.00

Supposedly this lift has been repaired and works now. Myself and another guy who I consider our best mechanic have been telling them for years to get us a large shipping container to store outage related and other types of special equipment in. We could easily load one up, inventory the thing so we know where stuff is when we need it....once every 2 years. Instead of piled here piled there stashed up there( mezzanine)...they don't care because they're not wallering around in it or searching hi n low looking for it.

It was a good thing I ask around about that lift because I was ready to chop that sob into pieces too!
    Seriously!

I tried that mod years ago. The tires go flat after a year or 2. Upgraded to solid rubber band cart wheels/tires.

Still, off the bat, I loved the smoothness of the air tires...until they went flat.

Nah, I just linked that one so you could see that it's a 6205-16-2RS. If you scroll down on that link there's a 10 pack for like $30

It’s not the worlds best cart for sure, but the steel I put into it was metal that was laying around, so no real cash investment. The chains are as useless as can be, I really need to find a better solution!

It rolls so nice for the moment, if they get too troublesome I may pull the valve core and see how much spray foam I can get in there. Although at $8.00 each it might be cheaper to Chuck them when they go flat and put some go-kart slicks on there.

Speaking of bearings; I haven't seen one for better than 20 years but there used to be what IIRC was called a bearing manual. It was a very large book with all different sizes of bearings and the different manufacturers part numbers interchange. I haven't seen one since and most people I've mentioned this too never heard of such a thing. I figure some of you here have.
