Not at all, I thought the same thing. Sounds like it's being held by some folks who frequent the track but are now getting into 4x4/off-road.

Impossible. At least according to the average 2G owner.

I'm closing on 250k, probably time for an oil change even if it's a little early.

What is happening at this event? Is it just an off-road car show or are people camping there? If it’s camping that’s an odd place, in a parking lot of a racetrack and golf course. There’s a bunch of actual campgrounds in the area.

I'm commenting on the constant influx of trolls who own 2Gs who do nothing else but trash the 3G trucks all day in the 3G forum. Per them 100k in these trucks is impossible, they all have catastrophic failures before then.

I love it were already the worst gen still.

Fair though. I know the 2/4 gen 4 runners get the stink eye. I've always kind of wanted the V8 4th gen though.

Also I won't lie I did test ride a ranger with that turbo 4 and it was a heck of a lot smoother than the Tacoma.

Oh yeah I loved the ride of it. Something felt off when I was deciding which pickup I wanted. Viewing angle was a bit better too tbh, but concerns for reliability and god forbid, resale value.
Mainly looked at the ranger initially because after my dad passed away, all I could think about when shopping for a truck was growing up sitting sideways in the back of the ranger.

That engine (is it an I4T 2.3?) Was used in the mustangs for a while and those owners are uhhhh let's just say they're not very gentle on engines. I had no concerns about reliability long term.

Hell the Tacoma was 4th on the list. Ridgeline made the most sense. Then the frontier or ranger, then the Tacoma.

Still. Always wanted a Tacoma. If I got anything else I'd have been bugging out wanting to trade it in under buyers remorse since I didn't get the trok I've wanted for like 20 years.

Next time I'll buy with a lot more brain. I always wanted a hatchback Mazda 3, got one. I always wanted a Tacoma, got one. I always wanted a fiero - I wonder if there's next :spy:

I have no idea, didn’t get that far into the research. Ford dealers were also wanting 10-15% over msrp and the Toyota dealership gave me $500 off and the all weather mats for free which tipped the scales.

probably worked out worse for me with all the mods and accessories lol

When was this? I was looking in Nov/Dec 2019, and I also qualified for ford’s X plan (but the dealer also could have matched it on their own, most likely).

Retrospect I’m glad I didn’t. I would have gone for an extended cab, not a crew cab. And wouldn’t have had room for my sleeping setup.

OH, no, I never said they were a good car. I just said i wanted one. :D

    @GarlicFarts

Agree on the Ridgeline. If the bed was longer to make bikes or kayaks an easier fit I'd be driving one. Of course then I'd never know you guys so that's the downside.
