FYI - Montana 4x4 Association. These guys organize a huge trail run every summer - the Montana Divide Ride - in a different part of the state this summer's run will be in Polson in July. The main webpage isn't updated for this year's event just yet but will be soon. These guys seem a little more hardcore than most of us TW'ers but I thought I'd pass along the info just in case someone was interested in checking it out! http://www.montanadivideride.com/index.php

Well... Taco plans may be on hold...(Indefinitely?) I wants to be a pilot when I get all big like and stuff, so I may be taking flight lessons this summer. That will consume all of my funds guaranteed.

If I don't do it... Let the mods flow!

I passed up a chance to get my PPL in AK...for free. I still kick myself for missing that opportunity!

I am still torn between a S/C and my lift/wheels/tires combo when it comes to Taco mods... And now THIS comes up. We will see what happens. I don't plan on falling into a large amount of money anytime soon, so all 3 of these are kind of out of the question I am afraid. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Have you ever been a part of Civil Air Patrol? I know for the high school aged kids they have killer deals on flight lessons. Not sure if that is extended to the adults that volunteer too.

I haven't. I am looking into it now... But it appears to be more time intensive than a full time work/school schedule is going to allow. :( I might put my name out there though and see what it all entails. The main search & rescue chapter for this area is Civil Air Patrol, so it is something I just may look into...

FYI - only about 5% of the people in the air force are pilots. and the majority of them had previous flight experience before joining.

And if there is any solace in it, my Grandfather's Brother (my Great Uncle?) was a Major General in the Air Force. Spent plenty of time in the air during Vietnam etc.
