Yeah, mostly just a 12 mile commute to work with a top speed of 60mph. Not that exciting.

I just passed a week long motor officer school in June. It was not easy. I practiced for two months in advance. The videos do not do the corse justice. I was on a Electra Glide

I'm very biased, but I still say that BMW's 800cc parallel twin engine and all it's variants are severely underrated and slept on. I love my 800. The engine is freaking bulletproof, I'm about to hit 45K on mine, I think.

@03dumdum bought his GS with 37k. And I realize that its a boxer twin now, not parallel.

I was watching a guy on YouTube with 100k on his AT..

    Lights, Lift, more to come...
Slowly but surely getting the old XR ready for some adventures. Just added Tusk pannier racks and mounted 60mm mortar cans and a top rack for a water proof duffel. Uip next some more lighting up front. Hoping to hit the TAT this fall from the Outer Banks of NC an in to Kentucky for the first leg.

This is when I brought her home a few months ago. 2016 XR650L.

    This is her now.

Can't wait for the trip to begin but I have a lot more prep to do.

Well fuck me. Got clocked by a young girl that blew the red light while I was turning left. So far so good, sitting in the ER bay waiting on the lab and X-ray results but everything seems to still work. Feels like a horse kicked me in the balls from where I went over my bike onto her hood.

    Good times.

Should be alright. I walked away from it after laying on the hood for 5-10 minutes wiggling bits and feeling things out. Took the ambulance ride to the ER to get checked out because of the groin pain and low blood pressure/light headedness which are pretty typical response to get the family jewels smashed.

And released. Got lucky and there doesn’t appear to be any damage to me other than being sore. Cop said they would tow my bike and get all the insurance info from the girl since I was getting carted away and couldn’t do it.

About as good of news as you can get on a bad news day. Glad you’re still with us. Hope you get a fat check, she learns to drive, and you ride safely and happily ever after. Cheers!

I honestly felt bad for the girl. Of course I’m pissed off that she was an idiot and could have killed me but as I’m laying on her hood I look over and her and her friend are both just sobbing uncontrollably. Gave them the thumbs up that I wasn’t dead as I ran through the “am I still in one piece” check.
