Has anyone set the trd lift kit shocks to the lowest setting and added emu springs(the lights ones/884's?) to gain the 2" lift? And what notch is the trd lift with OEM springs set at to gain the 2" lift? Ive heard that when the 5100's are set at the lowest with emu springs that its better for the shocks? Im accumulating too much here lol. thx!

I would think not because the majority of everyone wants that warranty to be intact. Then when the old needle bearing goes they are up shits creek because the dealer is going to replace it with another weak bearing. I did 5100s on stock coils as they are designed to be used with stock coils just like the rebranded kit.

Someone else was curious about this too recently. Don't think anyone has done it. I would not recommend it. From what I've seen, OME springs are only meant to be run on the 5100s on the lowest notch. The TRD shocks don't have the same amount of adjustability, only 1", 1.5" and 2" lift options vs. the 0" - 2" of the 5100s. With a OME spring/TRD shock setup, you'll be higher than 2" in the front, and just a guess, it'll ride like shit.

Your 2nd question: Top notch of the TRD shock w/ OEM Springs gives you the 2" lift.

You can use any setting for the stock coils. It doesn't matter what setting you use. OME will sag.

I'm sure this has been talked about in this thread but my dealership said they could not install the kit on my long bed.

Did you have to buy all those extra parts with the shocks, minus the nut locks? Also what clip setting are you at on the front, about how much lift did you get with your chosen clip setting? thanks, truck looks awesome btw

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed I was told the same thing. I'm only partially compensating for my shortcomings by buying a long boi; now you're telling me I can't even lift it from Toyota! WTF?!? :D

Dealer might not do it, but I did it just fine. AAL in the rear vs the block though. Looks great and didn’t cost shit.

My dealer denied me today for just the struts... unless I bought the entire kit...

Picked up my truck last Saturday and had the wheels/tires installed Monday. I think the TRD lift is plenty of height for me.

Just do 5100s set to top setting and either a 1 inch block or an AAL in the rear. Otherwise, spend the big buckos!

Just the struts and the 3 pack AAL, still happy with the set up and would do it again. My only regret is not installing a u bolt flip/super bump stops for better bottom out control.

I used the top clip and gained two inches. I purchased all the necessary parts through various dealers. The nut locks only come with the back shocks. I had to get two for the fronts.

Try a different dealer. Some won’t sell just the shocks for whatever reason.

I actually found a dealer down the road for around $103 per strut 5-7 days pick up.I’m still in the fence, though. I kinda wanna get the 6112/5160 setup. Either one with AAL. The $1k difference though… I’ve been researching ride quality on road. I know the offroad will be better. And my tacos isn’t my dd… I’m thinking buy once cry once? Ha, but I’m not on a rush and my keep checking for sales on both
