I've been using 85 Octane in my 4 cylinder 2020 since day one. I'm happy with the performance and the fuel economy, and I never hear knocking. This truck hasn't been lower than 4300 ft elevation since I owned it either. You won't damage anything by going higher than that except your wallet. I wouldn't fill up on 85 octane and immediately take the most direct route to the lowest elevation possible. Though I'm not even sure if there is a route from a gas station that serves 85 octane to an elevation low enough to be concerned.

Yeah, 85 is fine if you are staying in higher elevations, but if you are traveling through coming back down 87 minimum. Just cus non ethanol gas is non existent here in CA and its all of 5c more id buy the non ethanol if i was in the situation.

You have a 3rd gen, Toyota specifies you can use 15% ethanol blends in your truck (see owners manual section 8.1 page 547).

NOT the same as a 2nd gen!
