Remember when

Remember when engines were simple and everything was easy to get to and even the dumbest and most inept could repair and fix their automobiles.

 

I would not go quite that far!

It depends on your definition of dumbest and inept.

 

Ok ya got me on that. I do recall some of the dumbest and ineptest who couldn’t even figure out how to open the hood or where to put gas in.

 

I mean, surely that's called a "butt cracker"!

 

I still have a set of those in orange. I inherited them from my mom. They refuse to wear out.

 

We often made weapons to take to school. Slingshots, blowguns, spring guns, dart shooters.
Nothing with real ammo that I can recall.

I made a stink bomb and attached it to the vents on a girl's locker I didn't like.
She pulled the little bauble and it went off.
Unfortunately, I reacted too soon when she pulled the string. Everyone figured out it was me.

Fortunately I didn't get busted, but there was a fire drill.

 

I was able to buy glass vials at the pharmacies in Laos, which contained a horrible smelling liquid.
It was an organic stench, but not a dead or rotting, nor even sulfur smell. Label had a cow, beef cow, on it.
No idea what it was, what the intended purpose for it was, or where it was made. It sure did stink!!
That wee vial, maybe 2cc, was enough to clear out a cinema theatre. Did that only once (but lots of fun with it other places).

 

Remember when you could convince your younger sister to do almost any silly thing?

Yes indeed one taste of beer when I was 2 or 3 it smelled bad tasted worse never touched it again till high school .

It still smelled bad and tasted worse. I can say in my whole Life I never bought any but for coworkers.

 

I went the other direction…. Liked the taste.

 

Somewhere there is a picture of my dad giving one of us beer from a bottle.
Growing up I was the bar tender every time relatives came over to play cards.
Guess I started mixing drinks at the age of 12.

 

Things were sure different back in the day!

 

It took a while to grow on me before I liked it.
