@308savage pool pump still going?

 

Came on this morning, and I swear it’s running quieter! I’m gonna try to find a piece of stainless rod to replace the headliner rod.

Worked on Corvette yesterday morning but ran into a couple of holdups. Moved on to getting this truck drug over from the neighbors. My cousin decided to buy it. It needed a new battery and after that it still wouldn't start. We are 99.9 percent sure it needs a fuel pump. (It fired on starting fluid). I never cared for using starting fluid so just gave it a little shot. My cousin wanted to hit it again but I told him my thoughts are with electric fuel pump that it would have fuel to the injectors right away. Put fuel pressure guage on there and nothing.
New pump and front to rear brake line ordered today.

 

Check pump fuses? Mine on Fordstarted acting weird arced the fuse but it never burned out. Changed fuse and starts fine now.

 

You can try banging on the bottom of the tank with a rubber hammer, sometimes they get a bit stuck from sitting around.

Not a bad looking truck -- so far.

 

Top water is the most fun strike! Biggest one I ever caught was on a whopper plopper

I banged on the bottom of the tank with the palm of my hand, primarily to get a idea of how much fuel was in there. Knocked on it a bit too and it sounded very empty. When I bang on the bottom I can hear the float (or something) bounce off the bottom.
When I listen with my ear to it I can hear a click at tank but no pump sound.
I could check the fuse but didn't see a location for it in the panel. We did try and swap a relay and still nothing.
Other than having a turd for transmission and not running it is only 116k mile truck and it shows, pretty clean.
Edit; tank sounded bone dry so put near 10 gallons of fresh fuel in it.

Being this is a Dodge I hope your Cousin keeps his Check book handy.

 

Reminds me of Walker Texas Ranger; just needs a light bar over the cab and some mud terrains.
