No, the plastic tank expands and contracts too much for an epoxy type patch- those worked on steel tanks very well but not on our plastic ones-
As mentioned above, you need a vulcanizing patch that can flex when the tank swells with heat and contracts with cold.

Sorry to hear about this, OP.

A gas tank skid plate is a good idea.

That won’t do anything to stop this, more than enough exposed tank still. Don’t let that stop you from justifying the purchase of a skid plate if needed though.

    LOL

Yeah, I'm only looking for a deterrent...and a reason to buy/install a gas tank skid plate. (insert grinning emoji)

They drilled the tank right above the steel skid plate on my 1st Gen.

How about this? They’d poop their pants laying under the truck and touching any part of the frame!:bananadance:

AgriOtter Electric Fence Energizer 20 Acre 2 in 1 Powered by Battery or AC Outlet 10000V 2J Pulse Electric https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091N9JS6C

And maybe put a remote switch on it so you won’t zap yourself!

But then again, they’d maybe :bananadead: it when it sparks, but they wont steal gas again!

I guess...if they want something bad enough, thieves will do anything to get what they want.

Back when i lived in Tacoma off Park Ave. some guy Key'd every car down the the entire street literally miles not sure how many cars he got but had to be in the hundreds. For weeks there was insurance reps doing claims and cops taking statements when i gave mine the cops had video evidence and "knew who the guy was" not sure if anything ever came of it. Moral of the story Tacoma's got a real drug and crime problem and always has.

Broken windows are so common in Tacoma that unless a firearm was stolen or ignition tampered with, the police won't even respond, go online and fill out your own report.

I still work in Fun City... Since Mayor Big Bird took office years ago, the QoL has gone down considerably. The look of the place (filth, homeless, junkies, etc.) has reverted back to the late 70's / 80's... but the rents haven't reverted.

You walk into a drug store in Manhattan, and everything is locked up. You need to call an associate over to unlock deodorant. If the store had four doors, three of them are locked to prevent easy egress for a shoplifter. Feel free to jump subway turnstiles; nobody will stop and arrest you. I ask myself when will the electorate realize that enough is enough, and demand a change.

I won't park my Taco anywhere near Manhattan.

No one cares what these people do. So because of this they do what ever they want. It’s unsafe and sadly the local government ( even though they say they do / what a joke ) could care less. Until that changes it will only get worse.
