All good over here, just needed a break and to focus on some stuff. IF something was really wrong, I woulda let yall know.

It was crunch time for the big paddle race down the missouri river, and I had all kinds of prep to do, and then a week of little to no sleep while I supported my girlfriend as she raced.

Had a great time, didn’t break anything, and got to see a whole bunch of rural Missouri. Even threw together a shade canopy for the taco from scrap in my garage

I hope you're just responding because I tagged you and not re-reading the entire LT thread history from the past few weeks :p

I might hit you up for more info on the Dakota swap at some point, but I'm still hoping to find some J59s at an acceptable price.

How did you like the new tires? I assume they're larger than the old ones... any obvious change in driveability or fuel economy?

definitely just doing tags, ain't no time to read all that other stuff.

It was a pretty easy swap, hardest part was just collecting all the pieces. I still need to go in and change my shackle bushings, they're toast.

New tires are great. Smoother than my cheap old ones, and the larger diameter seems to roll over bumps more smoothly. Between that and the spring packs it feels a whole lot less jittery.
I went up to a 275/75/17. Around town it feels the same, on the highway it definitely needs more downshifting on hills. Jury is out on mpg, but it seems about the same so far. Hard to tell because there's been nothing 'normal' about my driving lately.

    275/75r17 is a 32-and-a-bit. Weren't you on like 29s before? That's quite a jump... I assumed you just went to nominal 31s.

The fun ends when you've got to change a tire.
