The wife really wants to get a travel trailer, which means I am now looking into full size trucks.

We have been considering a Sierra AT4 and had our Tacoma appraised for trade at Bellevue GMC. They offered below KBB to start just as they used to before the pandemic and crazy prices, citing that the local market is extremely saturated with used Tacomas.

What do you guys think? does this seem accurate? Anyone have recent trade experiences that would suggest this trend?

"They" are saying that repossessions are skyrocketing and the used market is about to be flooded. I would assume what they told you is fairly accurate

Dang, we're in the same spot. Wifey wants a full-size truck, but we're likely keeping the Tacoma. Probably selling my '62 for it, so no trade in value, hahaha.

Why the AT4, if I can thread jack?

I could see that but I hope it is not the case, for my sake!

I liked the AT4 versus the Denali, less chrome and less old-man. I suppose its just enough "offroad" (but not actually) to keep me happy enough.

Just saw two trucks being repossessed today. Can't remember the last time I saw a vehicle being repo'd. Maybe the rumors "they" are spreading actually have some merit to them

Just wait six months. If you think the truck market is falling, the RV market is really about to drop.

Rivian gave me $32k for my ‘17 Trd off road 6-speed manual with the tech package. With the sales tax savings that bumps it to a bit over $35k, might have been able to get more elsewhere but I only had a week to figure it out and this was easy.

I used KBB instant offer and a local dealership called me immediately asking to buy my truck (2020 TRD
Off-road LB). The offer was more than what I paid for it originally, so I sold it and put the money towards a 2022 Tacoma.

I'm looking to sell or trade-in my 2020 Tacoma TRD Off-Road that is built-out and lifted. Does anyone have recent experience with either selling or trading a truck like that? I'd like to do a one-for-one swap with a new 4Runner Pro. Thoughts? Thanks.

I have to imagine you'd get a lot more for it by selling all the parts you can, and bringing it close to stock as possible. However, in our part of the world, you might get a good price for the whole package too.

Thanks very much for the advice Patrick.

I was thinking that up here in the PNW there might be a market for a truck like mine. I'd like to sell the truck as is, or with as much of the installed equipment as possible. Items such as the bumpers, armor, wheels/tires, and suspension are going to have to stay on the truck as I no longer have the OEM parts. I guess I'll need to try both approaches.

The used car market is about to implode. The dealer is never going to pay you for your modifications.

Used Tacomas are still extremely high priced in my area (North Carolina)

Thanks to all of you for your advice and insight. I was kind of hoping against hope that dealers in the PNW would be willing to buy/trade for a built-out vehicle, but that does not look like the case. So it looks like it will take time to sell the truck 'as is', and perhaps less time to sell some of the parts. I rather suspected this might be the case. I'm using Craig's List and Facebook Marketplace right now, and will use TW once I qualify to be able to sell here. I'd really like the truck to go 'as is' to someone who can use it the way I originally intended. Thanks again everyone!!

I hesitate to say because I'm not allowed to put the truck or any of the equipment up for sale on TW yet. But for informational purposes to answer your question, I plan on asking about $54k.

I made a lot of upgrades to the truck, and added a lot of equipment to make the truck a multi-day overlander rig. I think it came out pretty good, and is what I envisioned it to become. For example, the truck was re-geared with Nitro 5.29 gears. I also installed a Warn Xeon S-10 winch, an RLD canopy with three cabinets, full Icon Stage 9 suspension, CBI front and rear bumpers, CBI DOM rock sliders, CBI skid plates, Prinsu rack, Rigid light bar up top, Baja Designs light bar and fogs in the front, and Alpha Rex front and rear lights. I changed the stock wheels and tires out for Method 702 wheels and Yokohama Geolander tires. It really is a very nice rig.

Again, I'm not trying to advertise the truck or any equipment here on TW, I'm just responding to a question.
