My 17 has those. They aren't an issue. The ridge at the edges of those cupholders are just enough to prevent me from placing a hydro flask bottle or Gatorade bottle in there.

That part slides right out if you pull up on it. I took mine out, it was annoying.

I have one of these arriving today and hope it works.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B3589C7R

It’ll probably block the USB port or something else.

Not seeing it, maybe the Chrysler Eagle? The drive train sounds exciting, but don’t see the point of the Crown. The way they talked about it being a cross between a car and a SUV leading up to the reveal was expecting a high riding AWD car. Not what I expected at all. Meh…though I don’t really like cars to begin with. Always had trucks, except for my muscle car phase as a teen.

I wouldn't say the styling is completely reminiscent of the Eagle. Other than they are both 4dr Sedans, and both vehicles have rear quarter windows. It was more of the higher than normal stance-ride height both vehicles share. The Eagle Wagon, and I think even the 3drs often had two tone paint, usually black rocker panels and what ever color the car was. The Subaru Legacy Outback, also was a high riding sedan, kind of similar in that sense.

The Crown reminds me of the Venza, and this could be the Venza sedan. This might be the vehicle Toyota's unibody pickup is based on, if Toyota wanted to go up against the Santa Cruz, which seems doubtful. Maybe even the new 6th gen 4Runner platform, if Toyota wanted to target Nissan's Pathfinder.

Oh see what you’re getting at, the paint scheme. Used to drool over those AMC Eagles when I was a teen, now not so much. Would do a Volvo V90 Cross Country if I wanted an AWD Wagon.

Hopefully, the shortage thing will have come to an end by the time the 4th gen is released.

just here waiting to see if anybody confirms that the manual trans is discontinued for the 4th gen. most likely is but i dont wana believe it just yet. even though toyota only sells a small percentage (alot because they only offer it on certain models and do zero advertising so almost everyone i talk to doesnt even know about it) of manuals thats still a very large amount of trucks. theres probably more manual tacos sold than there are honda ridgelines so that number might just be big enough to keep it alive

This story may give you some hope Toyota will be keeping the manual around. However, a manual on an EV is rather odd.

what would be sweet is what Koenigsegg just made. a 9 speed dual clutch auto where you can manual control the clutch and choose what 6 gears to use in the gates aswell as just being able to switch to full auto

Anyone that knows isn’t allowed to talk. I would imagine we will know something this time next year.

What are the chances that Toyota makes a Taco derivative to compete neck-and-neck with the Ranger Raptor?
