After watching and researching about electric vehicles…Ted talks , YouTube , google. Etc.
I found out if everyone drove a electric vehicle today, it will make no difference, because the materials use to make a electric car, mining , steel factories, parts makers all produces CO2’ and emissions , this will never go away. Sure the electric produce very little emissions, electric company’s will still produce emissions.

what was recommended were the hybrids will be better for us in the next 10-20 years. More friendly to the environment.

Best to do your own research, each study may be for or against electric cars.

Even nuclear energy is a better choice for us , vs solar and wind, but this is another subject.
Research why nuclear power vs alternative energy sources…

I too want to see the world reduces it Co2’s . Man are creatures of habits, we need and want things to make our life better. It is a combination of changes we all need to make. Electric or not. The world is already in trouble.
Ever wonder how all the electronic devices ,cell phones, computers , all use electric power ,and electric power creates CO2 and emissions.

Ya it turns out all the cobalt and lithium mines in third world countries are not environmentally friendly. Its nice all those children have a place to work though.

While CURRENTLY it takes fossil fuels to make the electric car and run it those issues are being addressed and not going to be forever. . In time and with newer battery chemistries will reduce emissions in production and us less electric to charge. The sentiment that it would make no difference on the environment if every vehicle on the planet were electric is not a theory that seems logical to me.

Here's a smart guy that puts in perspective why in the long run using current battery and charging infrastructure it takes a few years to have any impact on the environment

The same kids mined the materials for your phone battery, or iPad, or laptop etc. So it's not just EV battery materials kids are used for mining.

I heard a commentator say that only 1% of cars on the road right now are electric and states like California are already talking about brown outs. What would the electrical grid do if even 10% of the cars were electric let alone say 40-50% electric?
Wind and solar aren’t going to be adequate so better start building the nukes!
