Way off-topic...what's that front plate about? It's almost the Nova Scotia flag but the blue and white are reversed and I can't figure out what it is.

Also, I see cars with Ontario and Quebec plates here in Pennsylvania sometimes, but I live over 12 hours away from Nova Scotia...

The flag is based on the provincial coat of arms, which was itself inspired by the Scottish Cross of St. Andrew (white saltire on a blue field) and the royal arms of Scotland. The “reverse-colour” Cross of St. Andrew on the Nova Scotia flag provides a more visible contrast for the Scottish shield. The Nova Scotia coat of arms was created on May 28, 1625, but it was not recorded by heraldic authorities in Scotland until the early 19th century, and English heraldic experts were completely ignorant of it. Consequently, a new Nova Scotia shield was granted by Queen Victoria on May 26, 1868.
That new coat of arms, combining a salmon and three thistles, was not popular. On March 7, 1928, an order in council calling for the restoration of the old arms was issued by the lieutenant governor, and a royal warrant was signed on January 19, 1929. It is not entirely clear when the provincial flag of the same design came into existence. There are vague references to its having been flown by Nova Scotia vessels in the 19th century, but it is more likely to have been introduced about 1921, at the time of the publication of a booklet on the Nova Scotia arms and flag. As with many traditional heraldic symbols, there are no meanings attributed to the colours of the Nova Scotia arms and flag.

 

I'm Nova Scotian so I know the history of the flag, the coat of arms, the connection to Scotland and it's flag, etc. I've just never seen a version like this. I assume the plate is a reference to Scotland itself and not to Nova Scotia but I couldn't find anything during some quick searching of the coat of arms on the Scottish white on blue vs the Nova Scotia blue one white.

Anyway.... Way off topic here. Ha. Back to trucks beside each other.

Saw these two in the spectator parking lot at the New York State Fair yesterday, and the third one not far away...

 

Joined by a couple of 3rd Gens in the front row of the Edmonds-Kingston ferry Sunday

 

First time I had the opportunity to do this since I've had my Access Cab on the left. I was never really inclined to do that with other vehicles I've had. Owning a Tacoma is sorta like a club I guess.

Three 3rd Gens in the parking lot of HenHouse Brewing Company in Santa Rosa, California; I also saw a 3rd Gen T4R in the parking lot, plus another 3rd Gen T4R and a 1st Gen Taco parked across the street, and not only that but there's a 1998-2003 Sienna parked just beyond the green T4R and I also saw a bonus 1986 Nissan 4x4 parked on the same street as the silver T4R and the silver 1st Gen Taco! One of the few things California is good for would be rust-free older model Japanese vehicles! Just look how clean both 4Runners, the 1st Gen Taco, and 1986 Nissan are!
