Had the neighbors tree fall on our house over the weekend. I need to become a professional lumberjack! $1000 to remove the tree off of the house and another $500 to haul it away.

    Can't like that.

Had a giant section of a neighbors tree fall on the garage years ago. Fortunately it made a direct hit on an old chimney cracking it 10 full feet.

Even with the chimney to take the brunt of the blow it punched several holes in the roof and inside ceiling and just about wiped the roof right off the building.

$3000 in materials (10 years ago) for a new roof plus another $600 to have another section of the tree cut down. :bananadead:

Another neighbor cut the wood up and took it away so at least some good came from it.

Sorry man. I don't mess around with those standing deads that have been dropping limbs near the house. I take em down before they do this.

We were all on the other side of the house eating lunch in the kitchen when we heard a boom and saw this out our deck window.

That sucks! I guess the cost isn't too terrible considering that can't be a quick and easy job. I was quoted $1200 per tree to drop 14" oaks. That is with me bucking and cleaning and for them to just drop them and grind the stumps.

    Glad no one was hurt.

$1500 is a pretty good deal IMHO. If you burn wood... just keep the wood, save the $500. This type of tree damage is tricky work for arborists because, the damage is already done but you have to remove the tree safely without having any personal injury or further property damage. Usually during the removal they 'tie back' the main trunk and remove the top first; when the top is removed the trunk has a tenancy to move towards where ever it is strung from. It is best to use a crane if you can for these situations.

Insurance is paying for removal and I have plenty of firewood. Now the guy is saying his equipment is broken and he can’t remove it today. Also wants to change the deal “I’ve got to get my chipper fixed got to pick up the part and take it to mechanic!
In the morning I can chip the brush and cut the wood up in firewood and leave the wood
    For 1200$
    Sorry dude
If I don’t get it fixed today I will be dead in the water”
Why can’t things in life be simple. :annoyed:
