Swapped out my tailgate panel with this one. My knees are so much happier. Also installed a pop and lock so I could unlock my tailgate with my key fob while I was there.

Flushed the power steering fluid. Recently started getting into full maintenance outside of oil changes and wheel rotations. The fluid was yellow so it is a good thing I didn't continue to neglect it.

I had a mini mighty vac and used it to follow these steps https://youtu.be/VV_xRWCaY2U. Worked great.

You're the first person that I've seen take a stab at DIYing bambeds, nicely done!
That's exactly how I made my original prototype boards, needless to say I'm very thankful for the CNC that's taking care of all the manual cutting work I was once doing for the first few customers.
If you ever want to grab a bambeds set shoot me an email when you place your order and I'll include a rocker set for free to show my appreciation.

Thanks bud! A couple of 2x4s and some screws goes a long way. She's definitely a cutie and my partner in crime when we go wheeling... She's an EXPERT at getting in the way when I'm working on the truck, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Towed home a boat.. Big ol deck for a 17’er. Gonna build me a dive boat. Have been borrowing friends boats to go fossil diving recently, and found a great deal on this guy. It’s nothing sexy... But it’s like an old work truck with a big block lol.

@Hyperbarics first thing is to disbale the auto oil mixing on that motor...they have a plastic worm gear on the crank shaft that drives the oil pump and fail quite often. If you dont mind mixing gas and oil it will save you a buttload of money someday!!

Must be solid advice because the previous owner (Dude's had it 25 years, and his daddy before him) did the delete. So that's good, but man to cut out the absolute clusterfk of wires was the first thing I did. Rocker-switch panel and forward fuse box will clean it up a lot.
Other than that- impellor and thermostat is about all it needs. And that's just preventative. Can't seem to get the lower thermostat bolt loose after soaking and hitting it with the M18 impact tho.. Will have to try the torch tomorrow :bananadead:

I swear every time I look at those 4 carbs stacked like that I can't help but laugh. This thing sounds like my Harley. Mean.

    Yes

Yeah it does but looks like it's better quality. I may install it and spray some water on it and give an update. Lol

I definitely don't blame the truck on being very poor at towing a car hauler trailer with a F150 V8 4WD on the trailer. The driver (me) has much more blame. I'm crazy so it's not my fault. Lol

A whaler with a Mercury is a sweet boat. Those plastic gears don't fail that often but when they do it's catastrophic which is why they're usually converted to run premix. That series of Mercury is much easier to work on than the series before it. I'm currently doing a major service on a similar year Mercury 80hp.

Threw on a new set of Grabber Hts 265 70 16. Not impressed with the noise level at all. I got a super deal, and only bought them for being a light tire coming in at 38 lbs. I am driving about 1000 miles a week for the rest of the summer so I should see a benefit at the pumps. I should have gone Falken Rubi treks, but I would have had to wait and pay more. Also had them mount my e rated 33s on my spare wheels. Just in case I want to do a little playing around.

Its a 1981 Lucraft.. Yeah. Had never even heard of it. But after looking at Montauks in the 8-12k range for months, I couldn't pass on this thing for 2k. I can't afford the Whaler tax right now! Its crazy.

And shoot- I'm glad its a beater. I'd be as anal about scuffing and scratching and babying a whaler as much as I do the Taco. Scuba tanks are notorious.. Sometimes it's nice to have things you don't mind getting dirty haha.

More quality of life mods. I hate stuff floating around the bed so I picked these molle panels up locally for cheap. I didn’t realize they didn’t cover the entire bedside though.

Received this in the mail last week. I was hesitant ordering from them due to reviews but shipping took 1 week exactly. Amp rack is really nice.

Hole crap you miss a lot on here when you're gone for two week. Now that it took me all morning to get caught up I'll share what I have been up to for 2 weeks. Camping! The girlfriend and I, along with out doggo just spent 2 amazing weeks camping in Wyoming. We spent a week around the Wind River range and a few days in the Wyoming range. We drove 2 very gnarly roads I shouldn't have done without other people with us. The one road took us 2 hours to go 2 miles and I got battle scars on all 4 rims and hit the frame and sliders many time. We took some video so when I get around to making a video out of it I will post on here. But here are some of the camp sites and a pic of the start of the road that took us so long. Didn't help my locker didn't want to work.

First time posting up here. Looks like I got some catching up to do.

Changed my spark plugs for probably the 5th time using @chris4x4 instructions. While in there I found this chipmunk stash in my filter housing. For 180,000 miles, she drives like brand new now.
    20220715_112421.jpg

Finally cleaned up headlights using the Meguiars headlight restoration kit.
