Fezzari, please take note…. The brakes that came on my Kings Peak were laughable how terrible they were. 160mm rotors front and rear with 2 pot Clark brakes. I bled them and no change so more drastic measures have been taken. Tektro 4 pot brakes arrived today and I put a 180 mm rotor up front to help out (I did try the 180 with the Clark brakes, the brakes are just too weak for that big of a tire). Overall, still love the bike but disappointing they’d select such a crappy braking setup.

Anyone know if 1up has some sort of adapter to convert a 1.25 hitch into a 2"?

Check the spare parts tab on their site. I know they do, but don’t know the details.

I have a Race Rocket mount with the stretchy O-ring, not a Velcro strap. It’s unused. PM me and I can send it to you … you can just pay it forward with a donation to your local trail organization.

Made my first bike packing trip this weekend. One night, 60 miles and 5600’ elevation split over the two days. Went 37 miles the first day and 23 the second. Majority of the climbing was day one. Bike did excellent, even as loaded up as I had it. Gotta figure out a way to get some weight down, but enjoyed having the tent and sleeping pad.

Beautiful area out where I live, just 30 or so miles as the crow flies. Jemez Mountains and Valles Caldera National Preserve. Hoping I can get 1-2 more trips in over the next few months.

And, the one photo of me, pushing my loaded bike of about 50lbs total up a chunky as mountain road that was 13-18% grade….damn that was hard!

It’s a great tool, but won’t stop you from hacking your tape. You kinda just have to figure out how to keep the tool away from the tape.

    And goddam this bike… :eek::bananadead:

I gotcha. Those drop-ship websites usually have good discounts in my experience

I called him and thats a great connection, thank you

Awnings are a prime example of chinesium gear with a simple mark-up because they imported an entire container full. Hard for me to pay much more than direct pricing. All of them are the same in my experience.

I've seen those commercials. I use Honey with good results typically

cashbackmonitor.com is a great website for maximizing coupons and of course cashback.
They're pretty reliable as far as if anyone offers cashback at a website they generally have it listed and the percent back is up to date.

Technical question: I am going to be replacing the crank and bottom bracket on my Poseidon Redwood (gravel bike). The cartridge bottom bracket it came with it a pig and always seems to have some free play in the housing. Currently waiting on a crank arm puller to be delivered as it is a square taper and the crank arms are on there nice and snug - can't leverage them off without feeling like I am going to damage something.

The bike is a standard threaded 68/73 mm bottom bracket so planning on going with the sram gxp bottom bracket with a sram rival 1 crank (42 tooth chain ring). Bike is currently running a Microshift Advent X drivetrain (11-42t cassette). Imagining I should be able to leave the rear derailleur and cassette alone and use spacers accordingly on the sram bottom bracket and crank to keep everything in line? Over the winter months I'll replace the rest of the drive train to be all sram, but don't want to replace half and run into issues that keep the bike out of use longer than normal.

Other option is to tighten the existing bottom bracket and run it until the snow hits and do the whole drive train in one shot.

Pretty rare you can pull tapered cranks off with anything but a crank puller. You are right that you should just wait for the tool.

The spacers that come with a GXP are really only for BB shell spacing and not for driveline adjustments. You shouldn't have much issue with driveline anyway and you shouldn't have to touch your rear derailleur or cassette.

If you wanted to wait for the full Sram setup in the meantime you could try tightening the existing BB or just replace it. A cartridge square taper bb is like $15.
