Im with you on the safety. Added grille lights to wife rav4. I like the look and its more visible in day w headlights off. I would add to my 05 tacoma but none of the set look like they fit stock ei trd pro grille .

There's probably a Divorce Attorney out there who specializes in these kind of cases.

What's the best quality brand of raptor grille lights out there? Assuming they're all made in China, but would like a quality set for my '22 Taco that won't stop working after a few weeks.

If I'm towing my travel trailer or hauling my cab over camper, then I'm wide enough.

There's a requirement to have them if over a certain width, but AFAIK, no DOT law that that says you can't use them if you're under that width.

They do make the vehicle more visible for sure, especially in low visibility fog/rain type scenarios. I don't think you can argue that. Did you see my raptor lights coming? Yup, you sure did.

That being said, I'm not rocking them ATM because I like the cleaner look. I especially don't like those cheap looking plastic grills with the three built in lights at the top. If you're going to add raptor lights, at least do it right (whatever that means).

I got rid of my 2017 Toyota 86 for the same reason. The "tuner scene," was getting toxic almost everyday and people would just dog on me for having a slow car (trust me, if I got a penny for every time I've been told my 86 was slow, I'd have enough money for a 22' Tacoma TRD Pro). Now that I have my 22' Tacoma TE, I've never looked back. I actually did a little drag race in Mexico against my friends 86, I actually can't believe my truck is able to outrun an 86 despite the weight differences.

Let’s be honest, every 86 owner knows it’s a slug and it eats away at them.

That’s why they keep going on about it’s how it handles not how it accelerates… or something.

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
Raptor lights on a taco? Fuck it, why not. I do a ton of blizzard winter driving. The brighter I can legally make this fucker the better.

    20220625_201945.jpg

I'd roll with a full light bar. But wyoming sheriff's tend to frown on highway driving at night in a blizzard with them on.

So everyone was right after all, your 86 was slow haha. I feel the same as you though, much happier I got a Tacoma now. Easier to go kayaking, MTBing and shooting by throwing everything in the long bed than strapping shit to the roof of the Suby or having to lay the seats down to transport anything that actually fit inside

Is there a place that sells single replacement raptor lights? The LEDs on one of mine have almost all burned out so just need a single plug in light.

    A few.
How about there are more Tacomas on the road with "Front Marker Lights" then there are Ford Raptors. Now there called Tacoma Lights.

If anyone is truly, openly honest about the real reason why they installed aftermarket lights of any kind, I'll give them a pass.

On the other hand, those that hide behind the veil of "raptor lights are for safety and visibility," nah, that's when I judge you. :crapstorm::crapstorm::crapstorm:

I think they're a little silly but don't really care if you put them on or not.

But those that are using them for "visibility" but not turning on their headlights makes no sense to me.

Wonder if any Raptor/TRX/Tundra Pro owners remove their clearance lights. And if so do they risk severe fines due to the extra 0.1" width rule that requires these lights? :D

Realistically, the only time you would get into trouble for removing your clearance lights is if the vehicle was being used in a commercial capacity and would have to undergo inspection. Which is basically never for these trucks.
