To avoid major nerve damage etc, I would recommend 2 hours at most if possible. At least thats what we try to limit it to in the operating room before having to let the extremity get blood flow back for 15 minutes.

But if its life or death, better a limb lost than the person.

I’m with you on this. $50k for a truck, I think I’ll take some pride in it and keep it looking as good as possible. I guess we have different philosophies than some others. Or, less money!

Exactly, I see it all the time. People saying "its not a real truck if you dont have trail damage"... so does that make my wifes lexus a real truck because its all smashed up because she keeps hitting parked cars?

My truck is glossy with no dents and no scratches. Thats the way I want to keep it.

    Oh look, another mod....

That's how I feel too. But you do whatever you want to your truck and I'll do whatever I want to mine.

Nah bro, that makes her a horrible driver. I hope she has her OWN insurance policy so your rates don't increase. I had an ex like that. She wanted to be on the same policy, then I saw how terrible of a driver she was. I wasn't having NONE of that.

She is a terrible driver... she has hit 4 parked cars, the neighbors mailbox, countless curbs... she even hit my old car in our driveway. Oddly she has yet to hit a moving target.

On the house battery I have my Bussmann RTMR which powers all of my accessory lighting. I left 2 more fuse holders on the house battery for a 1,000W inverter and another Bussmann (or similar) in the near future. You can see the thick 1/0 feeder cable to handle all of that. On the crank battery I left an extra fuse holder for my air compressor which I need to rewire. The factory wiring harness is trashed. I only put a 4 awg feeder on the crank battery since the ARB compressor is fairly low draw.

I ordered the backseat storage net someone here makes, and some TRD Pro tailights. Both will arrive on Thursday and I'm pretty excited!

A good alignment tech is hard to find, especially one familiar with a lifted Tacoma.

I'm not against shiny trucks, in fact I enjoy detailing cars when I have the time/space to do it. But for me it's not realistic to do with my Tacoma. I have a LOT of pinstripes from off-roading. In fact, knowing I was going to have pinstripes was one of the motovators for getting a cement colored truck instead of something that would show pinstripes more prominently, i.e. AG for example.

I say all of this because Tacomas have a thin layer of clearcoat to work with when doing paint correcting and polishing. Could I go out and try to fix my pinstripes? Sure, but there are only so many times I could do that before I start cutting through the paint itself.

Some people think I treat my truck hard and neglect it, but in a twisted way by not fixing paint/body damage I'm doing the best thing I can for the truck given that I'm going to continue to off-road in it.

Big facts. They specialize in lowered Italian cars (Ferraris, Lambos, etc) but they know how sensitive these trucks are. Their process is to put the vehicle on the rack and do the initial alignment, then remove the heads, back vehicle off of lift and let suspension de-stress, then drive back on the lift and align again.

I'm the same way I like keeping my truck looking as nice as possible but it is after all a truck and a means to an end for me. That being getting out as far away from people and civilization as possible. And doing 70 in a dry lake bed or crawling up some fire roads. I spent 2 days polishing out all of the bush rash after my first extended trip but realized the futility after my second trip. It does bother me some but it's totally worth the trade off IMO. The adventures I have had in the short time I have had my Tacoma are worth every single battle scar. Including ripping off most of my bumper and destroying the brand new skid plate.
