After tinting my windows the other day and failing successfully I have decided I want to try again but with a lighter shade. I used 35% and it matches pretty good with the factory tint, but there are some bad cuts, bubbles and a few cat hairs under it. MN law is 50% on the front, so I want to stay as close to that as possible.
I found this on Amazon, they are precut for our windows, have pretty good reviews and comes in a 45% (close enough to MN law)
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GVSZRMJ?smid=A22D7GMV9516M3

So have any of you used this company for precut tint?

I haven’t used precut, problem is if you mess up your screwed. I bought a roll with my buddies and we all chipped in.

The problem I had was the cutting part... figure if I can get that already done perfect I will be able to install it better. The reviews for this precut seem pretty good, one person even screwing up and emailed the company and they shipped him out a replacement.

Even if you get a good install, you have no idea how long that tint will last before it turns purple, bubbles, peels, etc.

I'd at least buy name brand film from a reputable tint dealer.

    Oh look, another mod....

Yeah, but that is probably for ceramic tint. That stuff lasts longer, looks better and blocks more (UV rays and what not). It may be high priced, but in the long run, you'll get your investment back out of it.

If you pay $70 (that was the price for all four door & back window), you'll get a $70 looking tint job. That's the kind that will bubble within a year.

Full ceramic including front windshield is $800.00 in my neck of the woods.

Yea here in SC I got ceramic 35% which is legal. Guy did my front two door windows in about 30 minutes for $300. Most of that was material cost. In the several months I have owned it, it still looks brand new. No bubbles, no dirt, no scratches and no drama.
When I was going to college I worked in a custom shop during the summers, weekends and holidays. I had bodyshop experience so they let me do more...which paid more. I worked the tint bay as an assistant for awhile until they let me start doing the easy vehicles. Trust me, it takes a lot of fucking patience, steady hand and skill to tint a window that looks perfect.
I graduated college in 1989 and I still have and use my tint knife lol. Key is razor knife with zero play between blade and housing.

I paid $80 USD for the 2 fronts installed @ Alta Mere. Llumar ATC 30. 3 year warranty.
I prefer to let the pro's handle stuff like this. I was in and out in under an hour.

Yep I agree. I've been using the same shop for quite a few years and they always do me right.

I was in it for about $350 for 100’ ceramic roll. And all the tools.
If you have buddies willing to pitch in it’s totally doable.
Let us know what you do and how it turns out.
The cutting for me was not too bad. What blades where you using?
    I recommend
    Olfa stainless for top edge.
And NT cutter 30 degree for sides - carbon steel.

Wow! Shops charge a ton for some of you. I just had my fronts done %5 highest ceramic they offer, lifetime warranty for I think 180$ and that included removing my old tint

Yeah, I just let the pros at my local tint shop do mine. $80 for the fronts over 8 years ago & tint is still perfectly fine.

Had the wife's 4Runner front window's tinted for same price and over a year later they still look great as well.

No it's not "ceramic" hooblah tint but it functions just fine for my uses. Pretty sure they used the same Llumar stuff @SSMTRDOR was referencing.

At first I thought it was marketing upsell baloney, but the ceramic tint is definitely worth the extra $10-15 a window,,, now I gotta go get my company truck done!

IMHO I would let the pros do that.

I got all 5 windows done for 300$, non ceramic. Still looking awesome.
