If they had an electric Navi for the same cost, I would have been on board. I'm not going to go touring on it and for around town the lack of gas and maintenance needs makes a lot of sense.

Got the white spokes finished. May cut the blue and run those once I have the mostly white sticker kit on

I didn’t read all of this thread but I just want to say that in my 40+ years of riding bikes on the roads, my closest calls have been someone turning in front of me, I don’t excessively speed and I stay out of blind spots, I don’t think super loud exhaust pipes are all that beneficial but I love the sound of a well tuned motorcycle

Mere decibels above stock is nice to hear your own engine, but I can’t do the stupid loud pipes. Don’t get it at all. Can’t name one up side. Usually when upgrading exhaust I’m looking at which options sheds the most weight first, and which is the most quiet second. Usually a deeper note is more satisfying than a louder one.

Also agreed. I like louder than stock but I don't want it deafening. I live on a pretty busy street, and can't leave my windows open at night because we have dudes in choppers and dudes on sportbikes who just love to rev it out as they ride around. Loud enough that it drowns out everything else until they've long passed.

They won't repair that frame. They would get a new frame and swap everything over. When I worked for a Harley dealership that happened more than a few times. My Buell was even reframed. No salvage title, the manufacturer will simply supply a new frame with the old VIN number stamped in it and then your old frame will be cut up and the old VIN sent to the state DMV as proof there aren't 2 of them. It's actually not such a big deal and an opportunity to add some farkles with free labor if it works out right.

No, they do not. Think about this once, you're sitting in your truck with your windows down at a traffic light, and you suddenly hear the siren of an ambulance. Can you honestly tell me that you look on the correct direction it's coming from 100% of the time? No, you likely can't. It does get your attention and forces you to look around but you can't immediately identify where it's coming from.

Loud exhaust is no substitute for proper rider training, wearing proper gear, and riding within your limits.

I could live with that. Totaled would be nice just for starting fresh at 0 miles on a new bike but as long as I end up with at least my bike being repaired to the same condition it was prior to the accident I will be happy.

I'd say loud pipes wouldn't save you from a left turn cutoff, etc, but I know from my own experience, I've heard harleys somewhere behind me, and been cognizant to look for them while merging/lane changing/etc while in earshot.

Conversely, I've had streetbikes about take my mirror off lane splitting, and cleared the hood before I even registered they were within a half mile of me.

They prob save "some" lives, just not the ones that are easily measured data-wise.

At least while driving, you know linearly, where the sound is coming from. Stopped at an intersection, I agree.

    Agreed 100%

I'd be surprised if it wasn't totaled given the frame damage.

I may have seen a Rivian, but only in passing. Youd think the rich folk of NoVA would have Hummers, but nooo.. All I see are Teslas

Pulled a Brexit and left the Austrian 390 at the dealer. This Triumph is the bike I wish I bought from the start.

New bike day, and a proper gin and tonic to celebrate!

Teslas def make more sense with the commuter crowd, esp if you have to park in the city.

My 1st gen tacoma barely cleared the garage roof at our facility.
