Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

I don’t like saying this because it always bites me in the ass. But after seats and a cage I think this one is quite possibly the way it’s going to stay. Not sure I could ever utilize links enough to justify it.

Links will happen. I just don’t think it will be with this truck. The little bit I’ve used this truck I can tell it has the potential to be everything I need and then some. I feel links would do nothing but open a gigantic can of worms trying to make the front keep up.

 

If I ever make it out to Shamrock or ATR and you're there, I'll let you drive my truck around a bit.

 

I appreciate all the offers but I’m really only curious on my truck so I can make a direct comparison with everything else being equal, that’s what I meant by that comment. But that’s not a reasonable request because it’s not like I can borrow some SUA for a temporary install lol

 

Front LT laughing at this ramp, it’s not even breaking a sweat. Could be about 4” higher before a tire lifts.

Let’s get a rear tire measurement off the pavement, I’ll do the same with the silver truck for SUA comparison

 

That ramp is exactly 27" high, I'd say I could go up to 31" or so when lifting from the rear axle. I haven't had access to a forklift in the past couple of years so it's tough to say. I'd love to try again.

 

Also to be clear, I'm not denying that SUA will flex more, I fully agree. @WormSquirts truck is a good example because he has the same front as me, SUA rear, and a higher ramp and can keep all 4 tires down.

 

I'm on the H70HD, and have all the usual truck mods, plus RTT, plus camping gear, plus 2x MTB's 7 gear, plus 20L of water, and the HD is perfect, if not sliiiightly light. So if you don't have that kind of weight, the HD is probably too heavy. With that said, I have also run them with just a spare in the back, and they didn't feel bad, but I wasn't fully bottoming out ever.

When I flex mine, my tires going into my shock is the limiting factor, and I'm getting around 34-36" when I use a forklift. Front still has another 2-3" to compress, but I think my 650# coils aren't letting it. That or it's just an IFS articulation thing. When I redo the rear end, I'm going to try and move the shock to get better articulation before the shock rubs, and since I'll be doing a custom back half anyway, might as well notch the frame as well for max up travel.

 

quick question here for those that know, for the upper JD arms what kind of lubricant should be used? So many on the market dry/wet?

 

According to the way the truck sits on the HD’s it’s not far off, ass needs to come down an inch or so and it’ll be where it should be. All I know is I brought the front up to move some weight back and I really don’t like it that way, though the rear did improve. Going to pop out the 5th leaf today and put my coilovers back to no preload. Will report back.

 

I use mobil 1 synthetic grease on mine.

 

I use none on heims dry lube still attracts dirt and just wears them out faster, super lube on the emf uniballs.

@81Trekker which emf joints are the replacement for the lowers?

 

They are not available on their website, we have the Tacoma tapers made specifically for us

 

Update. Removed 5th leaf tonight and the improvement is night and day. I was able to bring my front back down as well. Hit a couple of small trails and I can work with it now. This is a great option for anybody that might be too heavy for H70’s but too light for the HD’s.

Yes sir! We keep it old school. We are one of two places that I know of up here that still does full service. The older folks appreciate it, and it draws in a ton of work.

 

Nice man. Are those Gasboy or old Tokeims? hard to tell with what I can see.
Thats my line of work. Fix/Repair fuel pumps, POS, gas stations etc.

 

What’s full service mean in relation to whatever it is that you do?
