It was a great commuter bike and Ill miss it for that. But it was at its limit on Utahs 80mph highways, and didnt appreciate the heat and elevation between my house and over the pass to Park City. Just wasnt sustainable, and this will fit the role that much better in the long term.

4.5 months on it was a great way to cut your teeth to being a good rider though.

I "get" why some people like electric and can acknowledge it has some benefits, BUT... imho, it's like the difference between watching a fireworks show in real life vs. on tv. There is a visceral thrill with a combustion engine matched to a good exhaust system that you just cannot replicate any other way...

Going to take a look at this FZ1 tomorrow - - with a clear head and a "willing to walk away" attitude if I find anything "off" about it. I called two dealerships who had XSR900's listed. One had sold the day before, the other never had one. Not too bummed as this saves me a chunk of change... until the mods start, at least.

this kinda goes back to the comparing thing that I mentioned before

its not a comparison in the end

its just adding another bike to the stable, a different bike, one that can open the doors to different activities perhaps

    never a direct replacement

I kinda want to trade the WRX for a Tesla, since 90% of our driving is local. But fuels savings wouldn't offset the cost of purchasing one.

As for motorcycles I'm happy to stick with an ICE. I would like to try out an electric moto to feel how they ride though.

This is making me think of the scene from I Robot movie... please don't tell me this runs on gas lol

i cant stand tesla, I have driven a few now, i hate them personally

the hyundai and kia ev options though are pretty nice imho

100% will not replace my ice bikes with ev bikes... just would love something that removes the friction between my lovely neighbors and my backyard slice of heaven

    What year WRX? Mods? Pics?

Truly LOVED my Forester XT and cut my "modding teeth" on her. Owned for 10 years and would've kept, but repeated wheel bearing failures coupled with the rear diff starting to whine had me cut my losses. I still have the occasional dream involving her though! :anonymous:

Interesting, I've never driven one just thought they looked nice. I'll admit I know very little about EV's, usually the word hybrid sends me running. But guess I can only resist so long haha

And agreed an ebike would be the perfect back yard toy, if I had more property I'd be seriously considering one

2017 Limited, all stock besides tinted windows. It's my wife's car so not planning to mod it much. She loves it - a big step up from the 2008 we had previously.

The XT's are nice, have any pics of yours?

Was just BS'ing with one of our machinists who rides a Kawasaki H2 and he mentioned he's sending out his ECU to get it reflashed with a tune. Apparently from the factory the ECU is set up that even at full throttle the bike is restricted to less than 70% of it's actual power capability. Said the tune should gain him from 40-100 hp depending upon where he's at in the rpm range! I asked him if his wife wants to go halves with me on increasing his life insurance.....

That's a case of "too much" for me personally :D I'm sure the gubment gustapos will regulate it before too long.

I'm happy with the 25ish HP I'm rolling around on

See for your purposes an ev-bike makes total sense.

I couldn't see an electronic moto being added to my stable unless I moved somewhere there was more land but still relatively close to the neighbors. Unless it's that Damon Motorcycles sport bike. That seems like it'd be a blast...but at that pricing, I'd rather just buy another ICE bike.

    Nice

I had a 2017 before I traded in for the Taco. Fun car, but as soon as it got close to running out of warranty, I didn't want to deal with any potential issues. Never even touched the engine/ECU.

i just feel bad after running a 15-30 min mini moto in the yard I know my neighbors are livid

one asked me if I can make it quieter, i said well no not really this is a 50 state legal exhaust but I promised them I would not put an aftermarket pipe on it

pretty sure she had no idea what i was talking about

if they think a stock 110 is loud though, boy are they going to really hate that yosh I have on the 88cc xr50

4strokes bouncing off the limiter is like the music of my people, an EV will never replace that and I would not pretend otherwise

I just want one of each in the end thats all

    Oh, that is sweeeeet!

    Also sweeeet!

I was up to COBB stg 2, pink springs, thicker sway bars, stiffer bushings, short shifter, second set of wheels for light offroading, etc., etc.

Yup, loved that color. Looks beautiful in the sun after a good wash/wax

That thing is sweet too. Always liked the older XT's.
