Mine is around here someplace. I have a friggin' large noggin. I couldn't find a helmet to fit. I needed one for Auto-X. A local motorcycle shop had one, tried it on, and it fit! It turns out it was a display; Bell only made a few of them, so oversized no one would steal them from the showroom. They finally sold it to me.

Fabric strap, two D rings, but it worked fine.

A similar thing happened with bicycle helmets. Rides started requiring them for 100-mile rides. Those were styrofoam with a felt liner. The Head didn't fit; the plastic was big enough, but not the styrofoam liner. Sanded out most of the styrofoam, glued liner back in. It offered some protection. Still have it around here. I also made my Bell.

Photo of me, in my cycling gear, with three wonderful ladies who cooked me dinner in a New Zealand caravan park. Gotta love those knee-high socks (1985). My jersey was white cotton with red side panels, "fanny pack" used to hold little stuff when I rode. Days before technical jerseys with back pockets!

Try this recipe if you ever get your hands on a bear roast.

I have all my video cameras PoE. I put an 8-port PoE switch in my garage for whatever I need there. I also have the 4 jacks on my patio as PoE running down to my network room (wall in the furnace room) with everything on it. I prefer to keep my network local. I'll look at TP-Link. They make good unmanaged switches. I've got a lot of IT experience from development, networking, hosting, and (the worst) management. Love the geek talk.

:pccoffee: Good Morning, Porch Pals & Gal! I got my hole made, so now it's a day off to go collect a piece of plywood. I'm going to pass on more work today, and we're looking to blow away a temp record at 107*! Think I'll just replace my mower wheels when I get home!

Finished install of the console safe. Fit is flawless. It holds Glock 30S (.45 ACP) several mags, radar detector, wallet, sunglasses and knuckles. I am extremely happy with how it went.
Now to source a smash resistant window tint.
    Happy Wednesday y’all.

Article was very sparse on information but interesting why the FBI was there.

Had some of my last BRRC this morning. Received notice my next shipment is on the way.

Maryland Early voting is finished. It has been a tiring two weeks. Going to rest today and get back to normal tomorrow.

Nice wheels. OEM on my Honda and Tacoma.

One of the oddest tidbits was some wheels produced there were stamped "Made in China" and shipped back to China to meet the demands of local auto manufacturers who specified Chinese content. It sounds so convoluted there is probably some truth to it. I just laugh about the thought but given worldwide trade and manufacturing, truth is often stranger than fiction.

Telling employees to look the other way while wheels had "Made in China" on them could ruffle more than a few feathers, and bring the FBI to raid the factory.

Hope things work out for them. I still like to see products made in the USA!

    Afternoon all:

:annoyed:Went to straighten out the drainpipe in the pond and as I was walking down the yard I noticed ripples in the water, the bear was in the pond and I had to chase it away so I could get to the pipe to straighten it!

You have a dog? Boy, I'd be sure to take the dog everywhere with a bear hanging around.

And I'd have something loaded with rock salt too, backed up by 00 buck. As long as the bear is scared of you, you are probably safe enough. But if the bear decides it wants a roast...

Get half dozen rat traps and set them in the areas that the bear uses to enter the pond. No bait just clean traps. After he steps on a couple he likely won’t return. It’ll hurt but won’t harm the bear.

No dog! The neighbor across the street said that she saw it also and it wasn't one of the "BIG" ones that are around.
I don't know exactly how many are in the immediate area, but I think another neighbor who feeds them cookies told me that he had 7 different ones coming there to snack and he also has names for all of them!

China is playing the long game... and from everything I've seen from our own government the only long game players are military, CIA, and FBI... which have to deal with bosses concentrating on maintaining their office every election cycle... so short game players. The long game is always the smart game.

The guy is setting those bears up for failure. I don't know what the laws are in your area but I'd be inclined to have a serious talk with him... and if he laughs it off take it to the next level.

And I like Sprig's idea on the rat traps. Won't harm the bear but will teach it.

In most areas feeding bears is illegal. Contact fish and game. They’ll address it without involving you.

The neighbor across the street has contacted the game commission about the bears constantly ripping their garbage apart and if they could trap and relocate, their answer was to get bear proof containers which the garbage collector may not pick up. The guy who feeds them cookies has been contacted by the game commission and has already been fined twice, the only way he is going to learn is if something happens and he gets sued!
Might have to give Sprigs idea a try, also read to get pieces of plywood and hammer a lot nails through them and place them in the area a bear uses.

It's really a shame. I'd be inclined to leave the bears alone and just make the drain pipe solid if they weren't being fed. I don't want fed bears around.

One thing that might help is if you tell fish and game that you are afraid for your life and will be armed. They take that kind of thing seriously. You have the right to defend yourself... and in this case the better option is to deal strongly with the neighbor.

I was watching it yesterday swatting at the drain pipe, it's PVC and I think if I would have glued the elbow it would be broken and I'd have a bigger problem than just having to straighten it out. As for the neighbor who feeds them, he's a retired industrial arts teacher and those bear are his pets, nuff said!
