I wish I lived close enough to demo one of them. I'd have to be ready to buy though because I'd imagine, if I demo it, I'm likely bringing it home... :anonymous:

This guy got screwed I think, if he gives me refund he loses the 3% and if he ships it well it’s $70. Lol

Not for that reason alone, but it will be nice to not have a bike with well documented heat related issues.

Strange interaction - but at least he's realizing his mistake and trying to make it right? Idk, gotta proofread that classified listing and always leave negotiation room for shipping/handling

Totally agree. I just stay off of there because not too many deals on there (but worth it in most cases, much higher-caliber sellers)

My LBS carried Alchemy for a bit, but this was also pre-pandemic when Demos were a thing.

Yep, discussing now rather he wants to eat $18, or ship items out.. personally I think he screwed up and then quickly tried to change it. I've never saw facebook not immediately update my listings when I change things.

Thank you for looking out, deleted.

I do love it. It is a great bike. I'm selling this 429 and will be selling my Firebird29 in a month or so. I am having wrist surgery (left) and thumb surgery (right) and won't be riding bikes for a while. I figured I would sell my bikes while they're still worth something. Maybe a bad idea and I might change my mind. ???

Just heard back from Orbea about my cracked chainstay. They're offering a crash replacement... $490 for a new chainstay or $980 for a new rear triangle (not including labor to install). Since the parts would have to be shipped from Spain, they think it'll take a month or so to get them here. The LBS also said they can do a carbon repair for $200, which would take a few weeks.

I went with the carbon repair option and will sell the bike or part it out. I'm real glad I went forward with buying the new bike too since it'd suck to be without my bike for that long.

Gotcha. Yea if you're gonna be out for a while, that's not a bad idea.
Hopefully you heal fast and aren't out too long!

Just going to keep driving bike prices higher and higher. Ultimately, we, the consumers, end up paying for all this shit these companies stir up.

If these are surgeries you’ll fully recover from and ride again, just me, but I wouldn’t sell because of that (of course I say that being completely ignorant of your financial situation). Bikes aren’t going to get any cheaper, if I had a really nice pair of bikes o liked a lot, I’d just store them for a bit. If you’re so-so about them, then I’d sell and see what comes out next year.
Best of luck with your sales and surgeries, hopefully you’re back riding soon enough.
