Having to stop at a different Wawa for ice before my trip to New York ended up being a blessing in disguise; I saw this JDM 1997 Toyota Chaser Avante in the parking lot and got to chat with the owner!

1991 Daihatsu Mira Walk-Thru Van that I saw at the Syracuse Nationals on Saturday, legally brought into America under the 25-year loophole, and currently titled and registered in New York. I was surprised when the owner told me that this unique vehicle had A/C. It also had a 3-cylinder engine mated to automatic transmission, and the owner told me that turning on the A/C caused it to stall...

My sister owned one of these at one point in Japan, although it was in non walkthrough trim just a standard hatchback, and if you turned the air conditioning on it could not go up a hill.

Edit: Hell even with the air conditioning off you could barely go up a hill you'ed have to get momentum and pray to God you didn't have to stop on the hill for any reason.

Not the same car but my mom had a 1983 Olds Toronado for a few years. Some odd reason, having the AC on and putting it in reverse it would stall every time.

 

I know a guy who had a very expensive stereo installed in his 1982 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit in the 1990s. It consisted of a McIntosh AM/FM stereo CD player, Sony cassette player, Alpine subwoofer, and I forget what brand of speakers. When he first had the stereo installed, an electrical glitch caused the engine to shut off whenever the McIntosh stereo was turned on.

 

Oh shit. I had a Datsun 280ZX that would blow the tails when I turned on the lights, but that was an installation mistake.

 

I blasted the horn in my Tacoma at some guy for a running a stop sign and the horn wouldn't shut off; I had to stop in a parking lot and pull the fuse to make it stop. When I pulled the fuse, the engine shut off. The truck started right up, but the CEL was on!
