Rockauto clutch is holding up to the torque just fine, and yes thats the one i have. I am having some vibrations though that is coming from either the pressure plate or disc during certain rpms while accelerating and decelerating in gear. This could have been due to me not cleaning the powder coating off of where the pressure plate slides onto the dowels of the flywheel, or it is disc related. But i did already pull the trans again and i cleaned those dowel pin holes, but that didnt fix it. So either disc is causing issues or the pp is bent from the first install. Either way, i like it alright, but i cant recommend it at this time just due to the issues im having. Hope this helps some

It's a-ok sir. BS is welcome here

General update for a few projects I’ve been doing here and there lately. Made a quick disconnect for my solar panel using some thicker plugs used typically for trailer harnesses. That cleaned up the ugly wiring running down the rear window quite a bit and now I can take it off completely if I don’t need it. Also wrapped it in a some fiberglass sleeve to clean it up more.

Then I started pulling everything off the truck I could to save weight. Started with the camper, basket, grille, and metal cap I used to have on top of the tailgate.

Today I worked on getting some more clearance for the downpipe near the ac lines. It has been rubbing on that slightly which was mainly happening when releasing the clutch in first gear. I nearly rubbed through the ac line, but caught it just in time. Started hammering on that, and it cracked on the other side in three or four places so I welded that back up and wrapped the ac line where it had rubbed through the heat wrap/shield. I need to order some more heat wrap, but the truck is back in business now.

    Robert,
I sure wish @05Taco4x4 would be more forthcoming on his turbo install. Looks like he did a lot of research from what little I can see and or read…

Definitely feels better without all that crap on it haha. I weighed my spare wheel by itself the other day and it’s 29lbs so those are on the chopping block now too as much as I like them

He’s got some details in his for sale thread, and I’m sure he would be willing to share with you if you asked. Maybe shoot him a PM? He has always been very helpful when I’ve asked him questions in the past:thumbsup:

    Sir, Dropping Weight?
Don’t know if you use the rear seats or not but I removed mine along with seatbelts & other BS. No real room back there and removing the rear seats clears up a bit of room. There’s a plastic panel that comes in the Utility Pack Access Cab. Also do you tow anything heavy? Could drop the receiver hitch…? Go back to the plastic OE front bumper? Lighter weight rubber and wheels, removed any junk you don’t really use. As I’m sure you already know! It’s easy to pile in stuff you never really use I.e. tools when everyone carries a cell phone to call for help or even tools to do a roadside repair or a tow home.
    Just an idea…

Hey there Randy, thanks for the suggestions! I did remove the rear head rests and one of the seats, but I have a platform for my fridge where the seat used to be. I may pull the other seat out today though as I rarely use it.

i do tow on occasion so the hitch and the front bumper are here to stay.. wheels and tires for sure though once these tires wear out, and I probably do have a bunch of stuff in the tool box I don’t need. Thinking about a lighter battery as well

No need for that amigo, i appreciate your input. I’m gonna be trying to keep this as light as I can since there are things like the sliders, bumper and hitch that have to stick around. So I’m going to try and shed weight in other places. Thinking a carbon fiber hood will help as well. Probably gonna do that and swap back to the 12-15 front end

Added an AEM pre-filter today since I drive on a dusty road everyday. Also pulled a bit more weight off the truck last weekend. Ended up taking out the toolbox & tools (~100lbs), bed mat (29lbs), spare tire/wheel (95lbs), n-fab tire carrier (~20lbs) and the receiver hitch (~50lbs) as well. The truck is definitely super light out back now, but im also down to around the 4,150lb mark, so its progress from where it was.

Well, lighter than a Challenger now. ;) You could give one a run for its money, minus those gears.

haha yeah i bet it would give the 3.6 a run for it's money it certainly has the torques. And yeah regearing is quickly moving up the list as well. I may end up going back to stock 4.10s if i can track down a rear 3rd. That would allow me to regear for cheaper and then maybe get the AWD conversion done in the next year or so.

    Sir,
I know you are now an 4x4 but I have a factory 4.30 setting in a 5 gallon bucket so I have no idea if you could use it. I’m pretty sure it’s from a 5.4 Tundra with the tow package and have no idea if you can find a matching front. I don’t know the history on this 3rd member but it has very little wear on the gears. Just an FYI…

Did some changes to the rear suspension yesterday to get the truck to ride like less of a wagon. I was running a 3 leaf AAL without the factory overloads and after removing all the weight I had in the bed it really made the ride quality suffer. So I tried going back to stock leafs and a 1” block. Well that helped the ride quality but but the truck literally sat at the same height as with the aal (about 1” rake). So I pulled out the block and now I’m running stock leafs out back again. Finally happy with the ride height and the ride quality is way better. 1” body lift going on soon for AWD transfer case clearance so hopefully I don’t have to hammer the floor. Also bought a spare transmission crossmember from a salvage yard so i can modify that and then start test fitting the new trans, crawl box, and t-case as time permits.

Center of hub to bottom of fender flare is now 23” on all four corners
