Do you have a lemon with electrical safety problems? Imagine buying a car with a bad dome light that cannot be fixed, I would at max pay only 50% of its fair market value and that is only if it was in mint condition :)

That's fine. As long as your visit is on the work order receipt you got you went in for a knocking noise.

After reading this, I gotta say I wish I didn't attempt to give you some friendly advice. And to be honest , I don't give a shit about your truck. Good luck with your lemon whining.

I'm mean unreasonable in that you don't just drive up to the service bay without an appointment and start yelling lemon law because the dealership didn't immediately start diagnostics and warranty work.

Only 50% if the dome light didn't work ? Come on. A new $80,000 truck for $40,000 with a broken dome light. You expect people to believe this? BTW this thread is getting old.

I have a 2022 with the 2.7 as well, and it makes the same noise at idle.

You have to remember these engines are pretty unrefined and agricultural, they're gonna be pretty loud

If it blows up (which it won't) then that's what warranty is for!

I personally like the sounds from my 2.7L Toyota “tractor” engine.

Strictly cosmetics (PPF, Ceramic Coat, Cosmoline, Tint). Waiting for it to not be so new to start digging in!
For someone who claims to have such a vast wealth of automotive knowledge you’re quick to judge the knowledge of others, especially those who are professionals in that field. Admittedly all service writers aren’t master techs or even mechanically inclined but typically when someone blowhards about how smart they are while denigrating a whole other class of people it’s usually not the other people who lack the intelligence if you catch my drift. You claim to know a ton about cars well kudos to you but let me teach you about car manufacturers. They are building these vehicles to make money. And ultimately they do want you to be a happy customer so you buy more cars and tell all your friends and family to buy them too. And given my history with Toyota on the other side of warranty claims the fact that Toyota isn’t backing you up and making this right indicates there’s more to the story than you are letting on. I’m done watching this thread I was initially concerned and interested but like the other guy said at this point I hope you do get rid of the truck and go buy a Colorado or something that you’d clearly be happier with.

I’m guessing Toyota corp didn’t call him back today. I can’t wait to see who wins this chess game.

And fyi, I watched and listened to the video a little while ago. Now I want to make a video of my V6 and add it to the porn thread. :D

Upload a video showing same sound in the same places. Why is the truck making the sound now but not the previous 3 months?

That round is over. You lost. You have a brand new truck with a safety issue ( according to you). It not only has not been fixed you dont even have an appointment to get it fixed. The Dealer told you to pound sand. You need to talk to a buy back attorney.

you can go to any Toyota dealership as Toyota North America is buying it back. Toyota contracts with a third party to inspect and take custody of the vehicle. (They use Stericycle where I live may be different with different parts of the country with the third party company used).

the vehicle must come back with all parts and accessories that came with the vehicle when purchased and the tires have to be at 5/32 of tread or more. There must be no large dents or scratches on the vehicle. The windshield cannot have any cracks as well. Toyota typically sends the lemoned vehicles to auction.
