    Hello,

Recently purchased a new 2011 Tacoma double cab, it has the TRD Off Road package, JBL Audio package, and all the other goodies. Didn't realize it had the backup camera in the mirror till I got home.. :D

Is yours the 5 speed automatic? I am somewhat annoyed by it.. if I let off to coast, it downshifts and feels like it stutters at 900rpm, I can't tell if it's that or the traction control.. it seems to go away partially when I turn it off ?

Yeah it's auto, I haven't noticed anything like that. But my a/c / fan makes noise I don't like it. I think there is a TSB for it though.

Hmm, it's too cold here to use a/c.. ill check for that tomorrow tho. Yeah the tranny feels really touchy, sometimes it will go from 3rd to 1st for a few seconds before it shifts into 2nd when I'm slowing down/turning a corner and I baby the pedal so it's not like I'm flooring it to throw the rear end out.. just not used to it yet I guess.

I am coming from a 5.3L Chevy so used to a little more power, but also alot worse MPG. Ha.

my 2010 did the same thing. I had it in for the gas pedal recall and I think they flashed the computer or something and it never did it again after that day. They never said anything about it and i did not either so I really don't know for sure. I have heard on here that something like that was going on.

They probably did the tranny reflash which re-maps the shifting points to correct the odd shifting at rolling stops , this reflash is done with the brake override software installation , which is part of the gas pedal recall .

I have a 2010 4WD Off Road Double Cab... I wonder what they did that allows you that kind of mileage!!?? The best I have got is just over 19 pure highway... Usually 16-17 with around town mixed in.

The tranny does slow you down coasting (saves brakes, perhap)... Wait till you go four wheeling... the A-TRAC will amaze you if you have four wheeled non differential locked rigs before, or just rear diff. lockers.

Where in California are you? I am in North San Diego County.

I've been averaging 20.7 over the last 8500 miles. Mine is bone stock.
