I had my roof and hood repainted last week. Already posted pictures. They look fantastic. Yesterday morning I walked outside at around 6:30 and was a little shocked at what I saw. Looks like they did not use enough masking on my fender. Returning it today and hope they can fix this without needing to do more painting on the fender and flare.

Haven't posted in awhile. Nothing special. Just installed some inexpensive bed lights. They seem pretty good so far. Time will tell...

Bummer! It could be worse though!

Check this unbelievable BS out. I had just returned from a trip up north and as we pulled into the driveway I noticed a tile had fallen off the roof and crashed into the passenger side fender.

I just had most of the sun damage repainted....

    :frusty:

    Picture doesn't do it justice....

Yes the body guy had it fixed in 15 minutes with a little paint thinner and polish. Hope you can get that done cheap. I would suggest a homeowners claim but deductibles have gone through the roof. If you have comprehensive on your car policy it may be covered with no deductible. That covers hail and projectile damage. Comprehensive has provided several free windshields for me over the years. I rarely have collision insurance but I put comprehensive on every vehicle.

It's been awhile since I looked at my coverage specifics but do have full coverage. Might be worth a shot looking into!

Glad you got yours all figured out! Nothing like a fresh new paint job

Took advantage of the cool 105° heat index and installed a rear camera in my daily non-Toyota suv. It had nearly every other option so why not ? One of those early ones that only included a camera with the self parking bs which it doesn't have. It wasn't a bad job but I did remove all the interior panels from the liftgate, rear headliner and driver side panels to hide the wires. The real bonus was working in the black leather interior. Gotta love black leather on a hot summer day. Cheap for $21 including a 4.3" monitor.

Just finished my speaker upgrade. I put some alpine 6.5’s in my back doors. Last week I installed some 6x9’s and Subaru kicker tweeters in my front door. The 6.5’s really filled it out. Adding 2 ways all around makes a big difference!

Yes I was going to buy some paint thinner but figured it was on their dime. They did it quicker than I could go to Home Depot.

A little baffling there's overspray as the rest of the truck not being painted should've been masked.

Picked up my bumper at the freight dock on Wednesday. I'll probably install early next week.

I had centering rings installed for my aftermarket rims. Now the shake in my steering wheel is gone when I accelerate but I get a shake in the steering wheel when I break. Does this sound like a caliper? I had the breaks changed a year ago so I don’t think it’s rotors. What do you guys think? Are calipers an expensive job?

Calipers are generally around $100 per side. Then you need to do an extensive bleeding. Before spending that money I would have the rotors checked for warpage. Be a whole lot cheaper to get them turned. Generally speaking calipers don't cause a vibration. In my many years of experience, owning over 50 vehicles, calipers either work or they don't. When they go bad they will either seize up and lock up the brakes or seize up and not brake at all. If you have access to a dial indicator I would pull the front wheels and check the runout on the face of each rotor. It only takes a few hard braking incidents, or overtightening/improper tightening sequence of wheels, to warp a rotor. 0.015" of runout on a rotor can cause a noticeable vibration. One other thing to consider is the age of your brake fluid. If you haven't changed that fluid it can be contaminated which can also affect your brake system performance.

If your front end shakes when you brake are your rotors warped? Rotors can warp at any time depending on how hot you get them or if you didn't put heat in them properly on install. Take them to an autoshop that will turn them down on a lathe and see if they are warped.

Since I drove the truck without centering rings do you think that can warp a rotor?
