This is perfect! Which tire did you go with? Also, do you have any shots of how flush it is or if there’s poke?

Those of you that have the Falken M/T, could you please post more pictures? I had a set of these in 35s on my old k10 square body and was really impressed by them. I'm about to get new tires for my Tacoma and these in a 255 are at the top of my list. I'm just not sure if I'll be happy with the look. I'm concerned these will look awkward from directly head on or behind and I don't really do enough offroad driving anymore to solely justify them based on their performance... silly, I know, but I've done dumber things for worse reasons :anonymous:..I really appreciate you guys sharing. Thanks.

neither of these is my truck but I found a few pictures when I was looking at this same tire. I think they look great in this size.

How is towing with the 255/85/16...

I was considering these tires but was going to wait for a year on the stock tires that came with my truck Last July. However, after picking up a puncture in the factory tire on a very well maintained gravel dirt road my confidence in them is even less now. I am sure it was a rock that punctured the tire as Toyota had to cover the new tire under my road hazard plan.

I only have 5800 miles on my truck and the place where it was punctured was between the spot in between the tread blocks and the first grove for the water channel. I always thought the tread depth looked too low for that big of a channel.

I have a stock 2019 TRD OR DCSB with a canopy on it. I was wondering if anyone has a similar set up and if the additional weight of the canopy will or could cause rubbing issues with this size of tire?

With stock rims and suspension you should be just fine.

Anyone find any light all terrain in this size? I want the better mileage option
Seems r17 has more all terrain tires.
Kind of want to avoid swapping rims

Although there are very few if any AT's in the 255/85 size, you may want to check out the Cooper ST Maxx in the 255/85R16, at just 52.8lbs it is not only a light option, but also the tread design is much more mild than some of the other M/T's in the same size. Going to the 255/80R17 would open up some more doors, however many of those are around the 53lbs weight range.

Anyone have measurements on ground clearance from stock to 255/85r16 on OEM suspension?

This one says you’ll have a 1.23” increase in clearance. But it’ll be tire brand specific because they aren’t all true to their stated dimensions.

Thanks for this thread, another convert! Went with Cooper ST Max. Tirebuyer had a 15% off discount code right now which got me $200 off when you have them shipped to a local install shop. Surprisingly Jiffy Lube was the best price on install at $65.

20220914_175503.jpgThis is a 2021 TRD OR. I just put on Falken Wildpeak MT 255 85 r16 on my truck. This is stock suspension no lift. I have no issues no rubbing. I also have the same tire as a spare the does fit under the bed. I should also mention that I have no wheel spacers.

The spare 255 85 r16 fits under the bed where the spare goes.

Where does the weight information come from? On the cooper website, tires show 58lbs on the pdf spec sheet. Was considering these and seems every place shows them as 53 except Cooper.

    LT255/85 R16 123\120Q E BLK 6.5 - 8 7 10.2 32.8 58 3415 18.
