    7/22/2022 Still no allocation at my dealer, found a black one at a dealer 106 miles away on the lot. Just picked it up.

    Those specs are fairly common but were you thinking the single color choice might prolong your wait? Or were you looking for a long bed? Also by chance are you a Van Halen fan?

    That may be the case in some areas but I did not personally notice this in the mid-Atlantic region. The dealers here seem to either charge a flat markup for non-Pro trims (and even higher for Pro), or MSRP for all vehicles. One dealer in a hilly city actually told me the manuals don't sell as quickly as autos.

    My sales associate told me this week the cut over for the Gen 3 2023 model year will happen sometime in the next month or three; that said, and as has been mentioned here frequently, you cannot "order" any specific vehicle from Toyota; what you can do is put money down on a specific request to get into your dealer's queue, and tell them you want a 2023.

    That was a brilliant ask on your part. Around month 4 of my search I was thinking about Pros since they have the advanced tech and premium standard, and if it might actually be easier to find a Pro than a loaded Sport. I didn't pursue that idea because I wanted the stiffer suspension for street driving, but for someone looking for a loaded OR then I think it's a no-brainer if MSRP for the reasons you mentioned, plus higher resale value.

    This website seems to be inaccurate for Tacomas (though the info was accurate for another vehicle I have).
    I looked up my VIN and got the same trim/style/driveline results that you did. Also that site is showing 1 open recall whereas the NHTSA site shows none.
    So I don't think you need to worry.
