    They won't. I thought the same thing when I bought my 4runner last fall. They even took off pending sale when it came in verses in transit

    Yessir on the VH.
    As common as the specs are it has been difficult finding the gray in 4x4. Every dealer that listed one on their site was already sold. I’d of probably preferred the sport but went ahead and secured the OR. Now it’s just a waiting game.

    The trucks that are in port with the recall, will they fix the recall there in port or do they get trucked to the dealer for the fix?

    If there's a legitimate concern that they might, that's when a personal "in the flesh" eye to eye visit with both the Sales Rep And Sales Manager ensuring that they understand your expectations are met. Money down is in good faith, and that's to be both ways. All the best to you when you get yours. I'm still waiting as well.

    As has been mentioned already, I would recommend keeping your current build and also reserve one of the new allocations as a backup, even if you have to put down (and possibly lose) a $500 deposit.
    Hopefully by the time September rolls around, your 6/4 build will be at least in-transit if not your driveway. But if the original build is still stuck at the factory after three months and the alternative arrives on time then you will have good justification to abandon ship and purchase the alternative.
    I also came from a smaller vehicle (a compact car) and even a DCSB Tacoma feels gigantic in comparison so I am thankful to have the tech package features in traffic and while parking.

    Just spoke to dealer i have a deposit down with for the black trail edition, it was scheduled to be built 7/5, i asked for a perm vin numbr. Dealer checked and said it was on a hold. Then said he would send me window sticker with vin......sent me window sticker with the temp vin...:mad:. He asked gen manager about it and was told it is still on track for middle of next month, but im not buying that. I think and i could be wrong, they believe its nutn to worry about until it doesnt arrive on schedule. The gen manager said its coming from san diego so it shouldnt take long once its built. I also believe they think customers r dumb and dont know diff between temp and real vins.. stuck waiting with little info right now still

    If you have the Vin number, you can enter it to the Toyota website to see if yours has been recalled. Mine shows all clear.

    Status report for anybody tracking.

    Location: CT
    Spec: 2022 TRD OR DCLB, Lunar Rock, full tech and LED

    Deposit placed: June 1
    Allocation received: July 20
    Current scheduled build date: August 29th

    Bonus info: my local dealership got two in this config, and I received a call from Herb Chambers in Auburn Ma that they also received one with the matching spec.
