I saw my first Kimbo in the wild today and I think it was Profloundering because I'm pretty sure it had the SherpaTek side storage boxes. Sure was a great looking rig! Were you in the Key Peninsula/Purdy area today?

its been an outstanding addition to the Kimbo for sure - not having to stack tons of stuff in the cab or in the kimbo makes for very easy setup when arriving at a destination. The only part I miss is the tailgate but I’m working on a decent solution for that.

Didn't have the bikes on this trip or we’d have been at 360 since it was on the way, could have stopped and had a tour.

    See ya out there!!

How did you go about having these brackets modified? Were they cut and re-welded? Did you do this yourself? Thanks for any details--looking into getting one of these for the Kimbo!

I stopped by the factory a couple weeks ago and they were fitting their first awning...I didn't get a chance to check it out but it may be worth a call/email to Kimbo to see what the cost of their brackets are, may save you some time and frustration.

I don't suppose you saw what numbers they had moving through the factory, curious to see what number they're on - we're #269.

No, sorry - we popped by to make some suggestions and they crawled all over my rig for a bit and we didn't have time to hang...the trail was calling!!!

Next time, we'll go for the grand tour again to see what neat stuff they're coming up with.

    Hi all,

ROO67 We are number 240 and are picking up our Kimbo in the last week of August. We are so excited to be finally getting on the road. This will be a completely different adventure for my husband and me. I have been finding reading this forum helpful in trying to prepare myself for all this so thank you! I am new to camping so this is definitely going to be interesting.

    Cheers!

Do any of you guy's that have the Eco Flo battery in your Kimbo know if I have to go into the app to change some setting when I charge the battery while driving from the 110v outlet in the back of the truck bed?.....I tried it and the charge goes up to 400 watts and then drops down....repeating itself....thanks ahead

Hi, I've seen lots of pictures of tailgate steps that people use to get in and out of their Kimbo. Can someone recommend one that they find works well?

    Thanks,

    Sue

Ya, when in park you get to use the 400w but as soon as you put the truck in gear it drops to 150w or something like that.

thanks Profloundering....I also heard back from Ecoflow support that you should go on the Ap and change the setting to "Slow charge" to remedy this. (this was also stated in Talon Sei's video)
On another subject, My Dometic fridge started running all the time draining the battery. It was building up heat in the top so it was very hot to the touch on the wood counter. I talked to Colin and they said they have been having some issues as the existing fan was in a bad placement. They are sending another fan to me to install and help evacuate the space behind the fridge to allow more air to vent to the outside and take some of the heat out.....Has anyone else had this issue? the fridge failed to cycle properly and ran all the time.

Is your Ecoflow the Max or the PRO?

    Hey All,

We are getting ready to pickup #230 on August 11th. We live in White Salmon WA. We are super excited to start our new adventures. This forum has been an amazing tool for getting a good understanding all things Kimbo. We have a few questions we were hoping you could help out with.

    1. What stove setup do you use and are you safe to cook inside the camper?

    2. We have a Tundra Crew max short bed and will have to have the tailgate down when the Kimbo is on. I would like to add a backup camera that works with the tailgate down and comes up in my dash display. Has anyone found a plug-in option or a way to relocate the in tailgate camera on the truck?

    3. what Wi-Fi options do you have installed. I plan to work on the road as much as possible and was looking at putting in the 4GTE but right when I was about to pull the trigger I noticed Starlink is offering an RV option that seems like could be a good setup. Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Chris & Wendy
