What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Cleaned the engine bay this morning.

 

Today I replaced the junk spc upper arms with jd fab uppers, installed a mrbp cat back exhuast and oil change and greased everything.

 

Can you please give honest opinion about exhaust? Does it sound shitty?

 

I rarely drive during the night but what I can tell from when its a little darker when its gloomy out or earlier in the morning its pretty bright

 

You gonna sell your OEM headlights?

 

I dont plan on it If the headlights ever go out on the alpharex then I'll have the OEM to go back to

 

Just a funky flattening angle.

It's exactly as it's supposed to be like the other side, those hoses while "flexible" to a point there's no hope in heck I could kink one by hand, they're quite tough.

Made a little more room for larger tires. Still need a cmc or relocation. I have 3”/1.5” lift still deciding on tire size 285/70-17,295/70-17 or 315/70-17. This is my first lifted Tacoma.

 

A while back I had a very good friend mill some ramps based off my hacksaw prototype to replace the very ineffective original ramps for the swing out gates on my rear bumper.




The Originals that had a wrong angle and didn't do much to guide or support the gate at the catch and they tended to rattle a bit, plus with how they were attached with a countersunk screw and didn't go all the way to the back plate they weren't very sturdy oo adjustable at all.

My rough prototype largely fixed the issues stuck down with 3M tape but only supported the gate wedge partially due to the blade walking and the face being uneven. UHMW likes to be milled it doesn't not like to be abraded or slow cut hence the hacky looking middle prototype.



As it turns out milling a wedge is a bit of a challenge but he got them done beautifully and I got them installed today.

Wired up the power mirrors for my base model regular cab.
Also doing heated but waiting on spade connectors.

Did it myself it’s about 2 yrs clear coat was coming off so this was the most cost effective solution. It’s a pretty straight forward system. Sand everything, mix (liner,hardener and paint) and spray ( It has its own gun).

 

How much that coat you and how long it take?

I've really been wanting to Line-X or Raptor mine in black.

 

I probably had 800 in it but that was mostly the paint. Two one gallon kits would do it. I stretched it out over a week. Sanding in the afternoons through the week, taped it up Friday afternoon and sprayed Saturday morning.

 

Changed the oil, air filter, and lubed suspension and fixed the rubbing issue (for now).

Washed and cleaned the truck, conditioned the clazzio seaat covers. Slammed 8 Mexican beers on my 115 degree driveway.
