What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Got some new decals from Etsy. Flat black and metallic gold.

Installed with soapy water went good, the 4x4 portion is a black decal over the gold 4x4 and so was difficult to get all the bubbles out as the black decal acts as a sort of seal. I’m debating on ordering some that have the gold just die cut instead of with the black outline overlaid on them. Turned out great for now though.

 

looks awesome! I removed all my badges and decals, Toyota overdid it on the branding IMO.

 

I don't think I will ever understand the whole debadging thing. I guess it's just personal preference. It was the same thing with my Camaro. The first thing a lot people did was remove all the badges. I don't get it. But, each to their own.

 

I had this 1 on my prev truck and loved it. The only drawback I found was you can't have it partially open in other positions 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 but that is the same with any rollup.

 

Just slapped on the WaterPORT Weekender. It has a great amount of pressure, this will come handy quite a bit. =)

Finally got music transferred to USB and voice controller works for everything except playlists. Don't know why. They are in folders like everything else. Good enough for now though. Not as exciting as new wheels or anything but now I got 5000 songs on this little thing!

 

I put black overlays on my badges and ordered all black box decals but once 1 removed the bed decals I said screw it, I like it without them

 

Finally got a few more things completed. Bed rack and soft topper combo, warn 10k winch, and Relentless HC tire carrier. I do need to take the bumper off again and cut the besides about 3/4" higher so I can raise it up a bit.

 

chrome has no business being on a truck IMO. And how many times does “TRD” or “Tacoma” need to be spelled on the world’s best selling truck, I think people can figure it out.

 

What I’m wondering is why would those badges be on a Ford F-150 in the first place?

 

I wired up my rear bumper lights to a switch, I'm thinking of leaving them that way so I can use them as "FU back up" lights lol.

 

Visited my dealer today for my 5k Service.
Also picked up a hat at the parts counter.

 

Toyota may like to paste on a lot of badges, but per square inch, they can't hold a candle to Indian Motorcycle's 2014 Chieftain.

Got my garage door switch installed. Love how it looks. The lights don’t completely match the others, but it’ll be fine. Also got my coin holder/cup.

There's no way I'm going to work on the truck during the day under 100F weather outside

Tonight is the night. First 500-mile break-in oil change, TRD Skid Plate, Miller Catshield will go on.

Not my first rodeo, it's going to be a PITA to get the TRD skid plate on solo.

 

Can you please share more on this garage door switch? (How it’s wired, parts, etc.) Would like to do this on my truck sometime too. Thank you.

 

I laid on the ground with the TRD skid resting on me and lined it up somehow. I must have been determined since I told my wife, it was already there when she noticed the Air Dam was off! lol

 

Do you have ramps? This worked for me.


I layed down on the creeper, then layed the skid plate on me and rolled under. Get the 2x rear partially in first, then middle and front.
