Army Green thread: let’s keep it green!

This was just what I needed to hear. My original deposit was on a Red OR that’s stuck in limbo with no ETA or info, so I just put an additional deposit down on an AG OR. We’ll see which gets here first. I haven’t seen AG in person so it feels risky but it looks great in pics and the only other color that fit my basic build requirements was white. I’ve been driving a white car and feel a need to have some color, so I’m excited. And like you, my gut was drawn to the green.

That’s exciting to read. I just put a back-up deposit on an AG OR (my original deposit Red OR is in limbo at the port still) and I’ve never seen the AG in person, but it looks like it would look great and interesting in different lights and environments. Imagine it’ll look even better in person than in pics.

Now the AG will surprise you. It will be dark sometimes - almost black then other times it glows in it’s much lighter shade. Depending on the sun and weather it’s all the time changing shades. Enjoy it - it’s a lot more fun than I ever imagined. Barcelona Red is a good one too - good luck with your decision.

 

AG was not even a consideration for me. I wanted the Cement color, but my dealer did not get allocations at the end of 2021 and that put me into the 2022 models which didn't have Cement in the Off Road trim. Around October I found out they had an AG Odd Road coming in and no one wanted it. I decided to take it and got it in December 2021. I'm soooooooooo glad I snagged it. I took the red Off Road stickers off immediately because I thought it was too Christmassy and while I like Christmas I didnt like it all year. The truck is slick now and no badges. I am super happy

 

I took off the red TRD OR sticker immediately, the bed looks so clean now.
The truck came with blacked out badges, I'd get rid of the chrome letters immediately too, but I'm debating if I should just leave those black letters alone.

 

I like the black badging myself. I used plastidip on mine to get rid of the chrome.

 

Army Green is the best color. I love it because it’s not safe. I had a 2002 white Tacoma for 19 years and this is the complete opposite. The color changes with the amount of light, no regrets

 

My 21 has the silver. I don't like it and wish it was black. At some stage I plan on removing them. I am trying to go for a AG/Black theme and the silver just doesn't look right, especially with the blackout package!

 

No regrets but you better move quick. AG goes away for 2023.

 

Smartcap was installed on Friday. This is how my truck looks with the stickers removed and the chrome trim pieces. I know I have a break lite wire dangling I will fix tomorrow. During the install some friends came over to help and we started focusing on hydrating after a while.

 

just got a 22 Off Road in green, love the fucker, first thing i wanna get is a leer cap and roof racks for both above the cab and the cap. anyone know someone trying to get rid of a green cap?

 

I kept an eye out on Craigslist for one locally for about 30 days and ended up just ordering a new one. Closest one I found was 3-4 years old and it was red so I would have had to have gotten it painted. Felt it was worth it to buy new for a new truck. Not that it wasn't an easy purchase to swallow!

 

Cool to hear that. I live in the hot desert in southern Arizona, with really bright sunshine most days - lots of the pics I’ve seen of the AG are I much less sunny environments and it usually looks so dark - but I bet in the bright Arizona sunshine it won’t look as dark. I’ve seen the Barcelona Red in person here and love how it looks. Imagine the AG will look nice too.

 

I will say the bed without the red decals looks very clean, but I'll be adding orange decals soon to go with my hunting theme

C4 is by far the best looking bumper! I just wish the low bar was sensor compatible. I might go no bar, because I really don’t prefer a full height bar. Ymmv
