I feel you man. I love my truck, I just wanted to start some discussion among the AC world lol have you heard of the goose gear platform? It’s super cool but it’s $500…I made my own version out of plywood and carpet. Works great. I only did it on the driver side tho so I have one seat in the back.

I think the 4 door 5’ beds look great! The 4 door 6’ beds tho are LIMOS in my eyes lol

Would love to flip into an AC/LB. Best looking of all the Tacoma configurations. The DCLB is a little unwieldy in tight spaces, but it does give the most bang for the buck.

Opposite for me lol. Access cab's look cooler to me and look more fitting as a mid size truck.

I wanted an access cab when they announced the 2015 TRD Pro. Couldn't find one so I bought the double cab. Family wanted the 4 door for more room, but we ended up always taking an SUV lol.

Sold it in 2019 for a SuperCrew Raptor and had all the rooms for family and friends.

Found this supercharged TRD Pro access cab in beginning of this year and jumped on an airplane the next day. 9/10 times I never need to give anyone a ride, or it'll usually be one person. The rear seats work in a pinch, but I feel bad for any adult sized individual that has to sit back there for over 15 minutes. Imo, The back seats of the double cab tacoma is tiny as is. Might as well cut out the complaining and not take anyone if I can

Love the access cab but I’d like a double cab or full-size so I could get another dog.

Quite the journey to get where you at but boy it must’ve been worth it. Supercharged pro sounds like way too much fun!!

Yeah but honestly I always feel like there’s wasted space/things I want that the products found online just can’t give me. It helps that I’m pretty handy and live near a maker space that has all the tools I could need to do a custom build.

DCSB 4x4 6spd TRD Sport. Wish I got an ACLB.

Am not taxi Uber. Ppl have their own cars. Though it is nice sometimes to fit friends.
But that 6’ bed is so appealing. 5’ looks useless in comparison

I think I’m stuck with it. Don’t think I’d get the money back on the good mods I have and man hours it took to do most of it.
On another truck I’d have to start all over again and probably wouldn’t be anywhere near as built/be stock, despite how limited/low level my “build” is.

they say the devil you know is better than the one you don’t.
I know the things I need to fix. I also know the engine internals look clean enough to eat off of.
No guarantee I’d have that buying another vehicle that at this point due to model year and price, would have miles. Where either the owner took care of it and changed the oil or didn’t, putting it on its last legs.

if a truck bed isn’t big enough to easily sleep in it what’s the point

Good points. I’ve only experienced the 6’ bed so I’m not sure how inconvenient the 5’ would be for me lol

I have 2014 AC, 4 cyl, auto. I searched the internet three to four times a week for six months in 2017 to find this truck. I have yet to be sorry or yearn for a four door. Good milage, 25 MPG 70-30 highway-city. It is easy to park in city garages, when I have to go the city. If anything, I would have liked a stick but I can't trust my seventy-seven year-old left knee to continuously shift in the city.
I had a Frontier AC but it began to fail me at 150K and the turning radius as that of an aircraft carrier. Garage parking was a nightmare. It took premium gas was always 20 MPG.
    I'd do it all again.

I have a different make, giant extra cab truck, and a little car that gets 40 mpg. Keep that beauty of a Tacoma, best looking configuration of the bunch, and yours is a fine example.

    FINALLY off the island!

I needed the extra bed length for my kayaks. The salesperson was just happy someone wanted something other than the double cabs(which they were out of stock at the time).

I don't regret the access cab one bit as I only ever have one passenger, but I can see it being an issue if you need to carry more than one. I like being able to reach behind me in the driver's seat and open/close the slider(I have long arms).

Finally, it's nice having something different than what everyone else has!

I love my access cab. I removed the jump seats in my truck to have more storage space. I either want to get the goose gear seat delete or build some thing like it. The access cab also looks the best.
I use the 6 foot bed space way more than i would use the double cab. The dclb is too long to take on trails and might as well get a full size truck at that point.

With one kid and a dog, I regret getting an AC. I bought my AC way before kids were in the picture. However, to me its more of a hassle to sell my paid off truck and buy another vehicle (especially since we have a dedicated family hauler) so i'm just making my AC work in the meantime. I love the truck, don't get me wrong. I've made it mine and think it looks perfect but having the extra room of a four door would now, in hindsight, be better.

Edit: this really only applies while our daughter is in a rear facing car seat. Once she graduates to front facing/booster the AC should be fine for family purposes. Its really just the rear facing car seat that makes the truck fairly useless for all of us to use. I love the truck otherwise and am currently looking for a shell, lol.
