I put my new tail lights in today. I got the black lamps from TRQ on ebay with the fancy "c" channel marker light and the two rows of led stop/turn signal lights. Wiring wise it was plug and play, fitment wise the screw hole were filled up with sealer and had to drill the holes to clean out the sealer so the screws would fit properly in the plastic screw grommets. We'll see how long these hold up. I saved my stock units just in case these fail. I hope they last, I like the look of them, it updates the look of the Tacoma. I also bought new turn signal lenses and third brake lamp lens and used VHT Nightshades on them and after letting them dry over night, put Avalon King Ceramic coating on the lenses to help keep them from fading and oxidizing. I did the ceramic coating on the tail light lenses to since the clear plastic lenses like to yellow.
    Here are some pictures:

The front markers are not as dark since I did these about a year ago. The OE markers are no longer available from Toyota so I have to be careful with these lamps.

Thanks, I kept the stockers just in case I have any problems and I can do the Nightshades treatment on them if I switch back.

I understand blocking out your plate if that makes you comfortable, but your truck is so friggen clean you can see the plate characters reflecting in the chrome of your bumper.

    Thanks!
It's garaged and I also have a couple of cats that like to jump on it so I keep I covered so the cats claws don't scratch it as much but still get a few marks.
I also use Mr. Sam's spray wax from Cleetus McFarland for the quick detailing and paw prints the cat's leave behind.

Why didn't you do something in OE style? I don't think those fit the truck at all.
I have a '95 and I'm definitely looking to replace mine sometime soon, as mine are cracked in a few spots.

Oh, didn't realize that. Only 1/2 the numbers are showing so they would have to figure it out.

I good friend of mine had the exact same truck that he bought new back in '96. I think the day he bought it was the only day it looked this clean lol

They are growing on me, I still have my stockers so I can do the tint treatment on them and run those if I decide to go back. My stock ones are the 01-04 tails I put on many years ago.

Clean truck! Would love a similar stripe on my '13.

But I would vote to ditch the dealer tag frame. Unless you own the dealership....... :D

why would you want to tint them, though?
I've yet to see a better looking for headlights and tail lights than just factory-style. my opinion anyway, but I feel pretty strongly about it.

It would be a light tint since I wouldn't want the cops to keep pulling me over, got a Stormtrooper theme going on. lol

Thank you! It's not perfect, it still shows it what it has been through over the years. I guess you could call it character markings.
I guess it started when people remembered my old '69 GTO and how I kept it up before I sold it and I decided to put that effort into this truck. More and more people commented on it and thought it was a newer truck so I kept it up. I guess I would say my GTO was the inspiration to how my Taco looks today. My wife thinks I am nuts and says I should sell it. I will see how long I can keep it going, it is like a family member after all of these years!

Thanks! That is the original stripe from 1996 and no longer available from Toyota.
The Dealer Frame is homage to a movie trilogy and a certain Toyota Truck back in the eighty's. Google the dealer name and you will get it! Lol!

It seems a little silly to pull someone over for that, unless it's difficult to see them. maybe I should be thankful my truck will be in KY!
