I wish. We miss Rhode Island lol. But probably not especially with trying to buy this house in texas currently.

Can relate, the buying process before and after is just that..a process, even if it's a new house. Mine was more a process since it was almost unlivable back then. Hopefully that changes, sad we didn't get to link up that time.

Not gonna lie, I hate the cold. And rusty vehicles. But it is really really nice up in that area. And it was so peaceful. Like we didn’t pass one area or neighborhood where we felt like we had to lock the doors or anything sketchy. And the trees and all that are beautiful as well

we have our hopes on atleast visiting up there again in the future. That’s for sure.

Oh trust me, live here long enough you'll grow to hate it with a passion. 47 of my 48 years here. Used to have to roof rake and shovel the back roof on my house since it's shallow pitched. Yicky.

That said you're right about foliage, there are some who will travel here in fall just to check it out..leaf peepers.

    LOL

In CO we had snow guards on our roofs if you had metal roofs. It keeps the snow ON the roof so it doesn’t slide off and crush you lol. And its ice dam protection since there you’ll get dumped with 2’ of snow and it’ll start melting as soon as the sun comes out.

I’m surprised they don’t have heated products to help you with shedding snow off the roof if its an issue.

    I miss snow…
Especially right now in this death heat.

They do have a heated cable you have to use metal clips and kind of weave it in a up and down pattern. I personally don't trust the stuff.

My thoughts as well, I want nothing to do with being on the roof especially in the shitty weather

I only have window AC units so at least that isn't a horribly costly thing.

Yeah. Whats funny is we are doing all the landscaping right now. We’re both like F owning a home this week between cost and physical work.

I’m ready for that fancy condo livin in the PNW!

I life to live instead of layin mulch, mowin lawns, staining two tier decks, painting houses, staining fences, and insulating attic space.

This house was neglected. We joke its a converted crack house. Not only to poke fun at our neighborhood but the home was bought by the owners ahead of us in 2018 for $72k. Oodles of fun :)

I try to do as little as possible with landscaping and still keep my wife happy. I do mow the lawn on schedule though so it's not an eyesore.

Staining? BAH. Trex and vinyl for me.

And yeah I relate, my house was 85 years old when we moved in and neglected is not a strong enough word, I'll regale you with some stories in a bit

We just did mulch, trimmed up bushes, and put in a couple half price clearance plants to spruce things up and make it look less like a shit hole with nothing lol.

This neighborhood doesn’t lend itself to vinyl decking. Plus Its a two level really large deck. I imagine I’d be looking at $15k+ to convert (especially because I ain’t doin it).

Hubs and I were checking out condos on Zillow. This one AWESOME condo had $760 in MONTHLY condo fees. I was like, do I have a private pool and my own personal sexy black cabana man covered in coconut oil come give me massages? Because thats what I better have for that price.

After this week all of a sudden those condo fees don’t seem so bad LOL. Cabana man or not, I’ll take it.

Yeah that would be a pain to convert, but if you had to do it anyway..buy once cry once. My friend is replacing boards every year in his deck because the prior owner didn't maintain it. I think I've talked him into changing it next spring haha

Yeah that's an insane fee. Plus the worst of it is if some major repair like a roof happens, they throw on another charge for that even if your piece of that section doesn't need it.
