TRD pro grill on TRD OR with TSS

This was a lie by me. I actually got my tonneau cover....thinking it was the grill cuz I never checked. So emailed them asking wth is up. He did originally say once they got it in from Toyota they would ship it out to me so....we'll see how long that is.

okay grill came in! zero word from the company that I bought it from. Will be testing the fit around Memorial Day when my truck actually comes in lol.

Going through this sensor garnish plate dilemma now since I ordered a Trail Edition grille (same as PRO but with bronze letters). Amazon has an OEM garnish plate for $272 which is still insane. Have read some aftermarket reviews where other brands, then shiny graphic will just fall off from the backing plate. heck, the grille itself was $190 so a small plastic plate being 1.5x the cost is just insane. But its Toyota's way of trying to keep the Pro grilles on the actual PRO trucks.

Side note: back in '16, Mustang GT and Ecoboost owners were ordering the GT350/GT350R suede steering wheels left and right and there was a national backorder @$192. Ford didn't like this so prices skyrocketed to $500+ in a matter of 1 month. Some vendors were true to their original backorders, others cancelled customer orders requesting they re-order at the re-adjusted price...

 

I bought the garnish on Amazon. No issues in several months

 

TSS is in your truck but trhe grille needs to be compatible with it, most grilles claim to be and that's generally true, but the "garnish" is what actually makes TSS work (or not) if you don't get the right one. Most companies will sell you the cheapest garnish that they can find, we sourced and tested many and when we found the one that worked we stuck with that supplier, our garnishes have a less than 0.1% fail rate.
We have grilles in stock and they are guaranteed to work with TSS, they come assembled with the garnish so all you do is throw it on your truck and forget you ever messed with it. Here are a couple videos that may help too...

I got the pro grill and tss garnish from them , no need to calibrate

This is great news.

I bought the Empyre-off-road Grill and ordered their Garnish too (it was shipped separate). It's suggested to put a washer on the top bolt of the TSS.

The garnish does not look like the knock-off, as far as the backside is concerned. Maybe I'll post pics...

Once I install, I can report how the system works.

At 6:40 time on the first/top video, the guys suggest not adding the washer as the Empyre video suggests. That's because the angle the garnish is installed in the grill should already be at the proper angle. Adding the washer to the top bolt of the TSS may create a problem that didn't exist.

I put on the pro grill and garnish from Taco Garage, I took my time...it was easy, no calibration and works

Grill out of the Box...I attached the Letters and Raptor Lights...lol



The Letters are screwed in.



Letters Look Great! No scratches on the grill...it's just my dirty hands wiping it.

Empyre offers different color letters...does Taco Garage do the same?
