I’ll start this out by saying I’m just a dumb 16 year old, I burned out in my 99 tacoma and when I was changing the tires the next day I discovered that the brake master cylinder was leaking and that my axle was wiggling. As well as that I have a oil spot that is appearing underneath the diff fluid plug. I Did the burnout in reverse (yes very stupid) and I feel like that may have contributed to it breakings. Anyway my mechanic said I will be needing a whole new rear end from what I said does anyone think it would be worth it instead to just service the rearend or is it to much work. Also what more damage could I have caused from burning out in reverse

Seriously doubt you've damaged anything major....its bad to stress out the old stuff,
what you've mention are just general maintenance issues..
My guess is you got a leaking seal, and maybe need drive train refreash of new universal joints and maybe new carrier bearing....
Leaf springs are probably old and tired tooooo..

Sounds like your a hard driver.......good thing u got a toyata.....

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Take some pictures show us what your dealing with.

Do you mean Wheel cylinder instead of the under hood Master Cylinder?

Your rear axle leak is it from the back cover rusting through? The axle seal? From a loose plug?

Just what do you mean by your axle is wiggling Do you mean the complete housing ?? The axle shaft itself?

No telling just what carnage you might have done on a drive train this old.

Does the truck still move under it`s own power?

If your paying labor to have this fixed swapping in a complete used axle rather then rebuilding the differential depending just what the real problem is might be cheaper.

No way to know without being up close and in person.
