These are the tails that came with the truck. I bought the truck used in ’20 and it had a few mods. I was worried about if these were stock or not and a Google image search came back with conflicting pics (some with chrome, some without). Knew they weren’t Pro’s and took a shot at ordering the 2018 stock OEM replacement - a winner.

Got the harness 95% done. I didn’t remember to order more 2 pin Deutsch connectors to hook up the 360° lighting for the rack. But I’ve terminated the wiring and just need to get those connectors. Then it’s a matter of figuring out the best method to attach the wiring to the rack cleanly; really don’t want to zip tie it.

    E12417E1-CD7B-41F0-8852-E1182AE5BDFD.jpg 9D5AFD25-DBF2-4E97-B7A4-D9CF01FF03FE.jpg 3B655E09-87D5-4945-B13D-1B5AF309304B.jpg A8DCDFCB-24D2-4AA0-BD82-E6B570D92912.jpg

I measured out points on the garage floor to help lay out the harness. Installed a 6pin female Deutsch which will interface with the wire harness from my Spod running up the windshield. This way, in the off chance I need to remove the rack, I can just disconnect at that point. From there, there is a 2 pin male Deutsch that connects to the DD 42” combo lightbar. Next is 4 points for the side lighting, this is we’re the 2 pin male Deutsch will be installed. Finally I have a 4 pin Deutsch which will reach the rear most driver side of the roof rack and to which I can connect additional lighting once I get a bed rack. Two of those pins will be the same connection as the side lighting and 2 will be for chase lights. This will make it a truly 360° lighting solution. Note, I didn’t install the rear lights included with the CaliRaised rack as I don’t have a need for lighting shining onto my bed.

My fat ass did the same thing. Laid it on my stomach and squeezed under with no ramps in my garage. Used my knees to hold some of the weight while I hand tightened all the bolts on. It's heavier than it looks lol

The center pin won't hit anything, the bump stop will hit the strike pad well before ever coming in contact with the pin.

Make sure you trim the U bolts otherwise theyll contact the bumpstop (Ask me how I know lol)...I ended up welding a 1/4" pad on top of the strike plate to move the bumpstop up a little to prevent this issue further

I drove 1100 miles back home yesterday. Returning from a trip to PA to visit family and somewhat impulse purchased these while up north. Thanks @Tony77 !!

Looks good! I have the Cali Raised Premium with light kit on order (early August arrival). Any lessons learned/advice for the install? Initial thoughts on the setup? Thanks!

I got this idea from someone else on the forum, you still use cable ties but the setup is clean.

I had to replaced couple of crimped ground loop/hooks that came with the kit. They weren’t crimped tight enough. Other than that it’s a very useful mod. I will be adding a BlueSea fuse block in the future.

Re-mounted my awning directly to the prinsu side plate with 1" spacers so the old bracket wouldn't interfere with the pelican v730's. Getting ready to head out this weekend for a week long trip. WOOP!

Finally got around installing the intake pipe portion of the K&N ‘Cold Air’ Intake Kit 57-9039. Bought it on a whim because why not? Sold the K&N mesh air filter portion separately because I already had a TRD reusable filter in my stock airbox when I did that mod a few months ago, so by just using the K&N pipe portion I ended up with a frankenmesh Cold Air system but still a lot cheaper than TRD’s price for their entire kit.

Verdict? Real world results are probably negligible, but butt dyno tells me there’s a good sounding drone at mid to high rpm and let’s be honest the stock intake pipe with the big resonator just looked restrictive to begin with lol…

Out of curiosity, do you used the Pelican's for storage for gear or as actual rifle cases?

I love how they look but wonder how much gear I could fit in them vs. a traditional cargo carrier (my cargo carrier is a super dorky looking off brand but it works!) and also wonder how they impact MPGs since they aren't exactly aerodynamic.

I plan on stowing all my recovery/tools type stuff that hopefully won't be needed often in one and misc other supplies in the other. If carrying any ker-pow's I prefer they be in the cab. One of the reasons I mounted them back further on the rack is hoping the airflow up the rack deflector will go up an over the boxes instead of hitting a wall. I'm currently only getting 14-15mpg already so we'll see once loaded up and on the road this weekend. I plan on removing when I'm not heading to the hills although I really only probably average driving 50-75 miles a week.
