Just laid them there roughly where they'd land on ditch mounts... not 100% sold on the idea.

They don't look too out of place size wise, but those side illumination panels are going to light up the hood bad. LP series really seem like they want to be on top of a roof rack or at the very front of a vehicle.

I was thinking maybe light bars in the upper grill and trim out the horizontal chrome, potentially. Or smaller ditch lights, the old short circuit standby of S2's.

yeah the side beams would light up the hood pretty good! Size does look good and all but they do belong on the front.

Sick! That's looking good! Is that just with extended length shocks and UCAs? Running any sway bars still or no?

I've been amazed by how good my TRD Pro foxes have been, but I'm sure that's a whole different level. My only dilemma is what to do when the foxes need a rebuild... will I feel the pull of a bigger upgrade. :spending:

I’m thoroughly impressed with how it runs. Dirt king ball joint uppers and ADS 2.5” up front and then stock length 2.5” triple bypass in the rear. The more I drive it the more I want more lol. Just gotta remember that’s what the truck is for and hopefully I can get it back on its feet here soon

    Sequoia LBJs suck ass!!!

Tried replacing them with OE to get rid of the Moog junk that the PO had installed (they were popping), and the fucking DS just wouldn't come out for anything. Ball joint separator, pitman puller, puller jaws, heat, BFH...nothing worked

Oh well, the LCAs need new bushings anyway, so I'm just going to replace both assemblies and save myself the aggravation since I have to pull them anyway. Apparently the Moog LBJs have a slightly larger taper and the LCAs will probably get damaged beating them out.

This is why I only use OE parts...

I think it was my Miata where one of the Ball Joints just WOULD NOT SEPARATE. Everything else on the car just popped no big deal but this this was freakin in there. Eventually what did it was tightening the fuck out of a ball joint separator with a cheater bar and then hammering the joint with a ball peen hammer. Thing finally let go with the force of the sun.

My dad was in his office maybe 30-ish feet from the garage door and he heard the muffled bang followed by my semi-relieved, semi-exasperated shout of "FUCK!"

That's the thing with taper joints, that first .001" of movement is a bitch, after that the battle is over.

Yeah sometimes that's the only way to preserve your sanity. If the bushings needed done anyways it's not even a waste. :)

In other news, getting a K5 vibe going on the T4R:
    20220725_135615.jpg

De-racking kit for the roof is like $60 in OEM parts meant for the Japanese Rav4, and I dig the way it looks. Still needs running boards or sliders.

So people will think I'm an agent of some sort? I dunno whether that's a good or a bad thing.

Nah I get it, it's not a look for everyone, I just like the clean lines of old school off roaders. I admit that it looks a bit more like a station wagon now, but personally I think the TRD Off Road models are overdressed. Hood scoop that does nothing, front & rear garnish that isn't actually armor, yadda yadda. Just feels kinda like they went to that one aisle in AutoZone or Pep Boys and started grabbing gubbins to put on. But hey, other people love it, chocolate and vanilla.

    This is the vibe:

If you plan on continuing to go off road do not get running boards you’ll be crying when you smash them into the cab.
You plan on mall crawling, all day long then they’ll be perfect.

Nope, mall crawling also requires true sliders.

    I’m not only a spokesman, I’m a client.

Yeah I suppose sliders are the only way. I just wanna make sure I get an angled set that can still be used as a step.

The anime body pillow / figment of my imagination has some trouble getting in with no sliders or runners but not too bad.:p
