you should have done more research before spending all that money. theres numerous solutions to your problem. manual, tune, learning how your transmission works, ect, throttle controller, etc etc.

Off topic, but how are you securing your GPS? I have mine mounted in the cubby, secured using a foam block attached to the GPS mount.

Thanks. I’m not spending $150 to move the button five inches anyway.

Actually it’s $190. Way too much.

Besides, there should already be an overdrive lockout button on the knob anyway.

They do tow better, while you can get more slipping with an auto your likely not going to do the same damage as burning up a clutch disc. if a manual. Heat affects both, imo its a lot worst if a manual clutch. With an automatic, if the fluid gets too toasty you can just change it before any serious damage occurs. A manual you can't do that.

It’s mounted on a weighted dashboard pad. Pad is secured with a bit of velcro. It’s all I had at the time and wasn’t using it anywhere else.

Like how much of a leap 1-2 is, and how I don't need to go 50 in reverse.
...and yeah if 6th was a bit higher, 5th might.. MIGHT get used lol.

The autos don't tow better. They are rated by Toyota to tow virtually the same. I'm a master transmission tech (GM factory) retired. I specialized in automatic transmissions. I do know what I'm talking about. If someone burns up their clutch towing, they're not very proficient with manuals. As far as heat goes, if your auto trans fluid is toasty, you've (already) done serious damage to your trans.

Put higher octane in empty tank and tell us the difference, much better, variable valve timing intelligence makes a difference if you have the 2GR-FKS engine, stilled tuned to accept 87 octane but its your determination

makes a big difference in the 2TR-FE as well based on my experiences monitoring timing advance and "my feelings"

It can be improved, it cannot be fixed.

Why would there be 6k threads on the same topic? Maybe because it's a real issue.

I've owned 8 Toyota trucks (several 4runners, 2018 Tacoma, a Land Cruiser, GX470). Only the 3rd gen Tacoma shifted like total ass. It was the most boring vehicle I've ever owned/driven.

I've driven tuned 3rd gen Tacomas. They drive better, but they drive oddly. Like unnatural when you press the gas, it doesn't feel right.
