Gtfo, last time I had to pop a cv on a trail was on a first gen. It required a lasso “slide hammer” and two pry bars.

I still laugh and remember the one year that @cynicalrider jumped in a guys truck and took off thinking it was his friend .
Guy ended up being cool and drinking under the circus tent with us. Was that @HolyHandGrenade or Stairgods big blue tarp tent?

On the topic, I’ve never seen an outer joint fail this aggressively. The cage just exploded. Sounded like a gunshot when it let go.

@cynicalrider what trails are you planning on doing? I don't know what I want to try....I have never actually wheeled this rig, and I have some screaming issues that need addressed before I really try anything crazy. If I remember most of the trails have bypasses around the harder stuff correct? I may not have my Sliders on in time....I don't think I will have my Transfer case skid plate on unless I can find some bolts that will fit it. I have 31" tires on for now. Geared it for 35s or 37s. Once I get bigger tires I will have to redo my Front Shock hoops....I was going to weld the braces on the hoops but no use doing it if they are going to get cut off at some point. My front E-locker is not hooked up or wired. Hopefully wont need it. I want to get RCV axle Shafts for the front.... I am not sure the Rock Auto Shafts and Birfs will handle locking the front...I've got a huge List of stuff that needs change or done haha. I want to wheel it to get a feel for what I need to tweak but I also want to keep it semi "clean" for now. So no big Puddles/Mud.

@HolyHandGrenade and I were just reminiscing over this the other day. I thought it was @sente3 who I was going to introduce him to his first Rausch trip with light hazing of grand theft auto. Turned out to be a total stranger and not even the right color first gen. :anonymous: Circus tent belonged to Stairgod lol.

Is that a first gen CV and a first gen manual hub cv next to it? The one that looks smaller?

My current list is beaver creek, 19 and doing crawl daddy uphill. Never ran any of them unfortunately yet. Based on its length and being a black I imagine beaver creek is going to be 13 on steroids and going to take a large chunk of time.

I believe they're both first gen CV's for non manual hubs. The exploded one is just closer to the camera causing a weird effect. Or the rusty one is smaller due to being another manufacturer, you can see subtle differences between the two.

Bout time it rained when I'm here....
Everyone told me the couple years before I started going was a washout big-time.
Not a wash out but nice to get on wet trails here finally!

Looks like we'll get a little bit friday morning/early afternoon and then be smooth sailing the rest of the weekend. Should be pretty solid weather.

I'll be up Thursday late afternoon.
If no one shows up someone might have to find me in a ditch in the parking lot on account of to much alcohol and me getting board:anonymous:
