Again, if you really want to double down on "I was technically correct about charging at 220V" and totally ignore all of the evidence to the contrary that shows you can drive the route you proposed in 6 hours and not 32 hours, more power to you.

I'm satisfied that you've received enough evidence to convince you that EV charging routes are substantially higher than what you thought they were on the road but you're too stubborn to admit it and that's good enough for me. Have a nice day.

Totally agree. I think the F150L has a lot more usability with the inverter producing a meaningful power output and the availability of aftermarket parts due to the shared platform of the F150.

The biggest thing that miffed me about the R1T was the total lack of aftermarket parts and the incredible uniqueness of the rim/tire combination. There's no options for downsizing from 20" which really limits OR capability, IMO.

 

They already use other manufacturers Ford Transit vans is one v err vehicle already in use. Amazon probably has an order in for ETransits if they aren't already using them.

 

No one is ignoring any evidence, it's like you are just arguing with yourself in a circle. Nothing here has been presented in changing my mind that you will need to add 2-3 hours of charging to get to Moab, I never believed it would actually take 32 hours. What a maroon.

Fact is, EV charging impacts road trips and can add substantial amount of time. That was my point, you've agreed with my point and continued to prove it.

Fact is, EV range sucks for towing and my original point, you have agreed with that.

Yep, the Lightning is a game changer. The Rivian is awesome, but not a game changer. It all pushes the market in the right direction though.

Yep. I think most people who would be happy with an R1T would be equally happy with a Tesla.

I also feel that most people who desperately wanted a Tacoma would be perfectly happy with a Corolla but maybe I'll stick to offending one set of pavement princesses at a time.

Heh. Tbh if the R4P was available when I bought the Taco (late 2015) I wouldn't have bothered, it's just as good anywhere but deep snow and harder trails. But hey the taco is paid off for years and I can mod it to my heart's content so there's no reason to get rid of it, plus the bed and additional tow doesn't hurt.

 

It's funny, I actually trust my Volvo XC60 more in deep snow than I trust my Tacoma. The Taco wins offroad, though, obviously.

But I think people underestimate how much better AWD is than 4x4 in snow. I almost went for a full size just for the ability to have full-time dynamic 4x4 like the F150 but the offroading suffers. C'est la vie.

By deep I mean 'air down and crawl and might get high centered' deep, but anything before that the R4P with CC2s is rock solid, especially at highway speeds. 4x4 just isn't as good (gotta notice the slip and click it in), and the fact that the Taco has ATs doesn't help either. (Even if they're the snowflake KO2s)
