Along with my wife and father in law I’ve been enjoying the Heaven Hill BIB so much that I went back out and bought three more bottles. We’ve almost killed the first one.

Also picked up a 1.75 Very Old Barton, the first two words of which are a lie, for $23, for my brother in law.

Finally, some absurd prices on rare bourbon for you all to scoff at:

That’s not an NC ABC store, is it?

No, they wouldn’t be able to sell at these prices in NC. This is a store in Myrtle Beach, no government control of distribution, prices, or state-run stores in SC. See a lot more rare bourbon, but the prices are sky high.

One interesting thing down here is every liquor store needs two separate entrances, one for liquor, one for beer and wine, so they can close the liquor entrance on Sundays.

It is also completely false that you can cross the southern border and find Blanton and Weller. No one has it, or anything else from Buffalo Trace. I was really hoping to find a Taylor down here.

Maybe have to go a little further? When I was out Saturday I skipped a Taylor, grabbed a Weller sr & eagle rare. Didn’t ask for Blanton’s as I have a bunch. Granted, for some of that you pay more than an abc store but you don’t have to wait for hours. I’m in the Augusta GA, Aiken SC area.

Edit: we do go through dry spells sometimes too, but the last few months have been good to go. Especially Eagle Rare and Blantons for some reason

I bet it’s like my experience all up and down the coast given the tourists. You’re set back from that.

Most definitely. They’re hunting it from all over, just like you lol. The only time I have the stores raided by tourists is during the Masters

Last time I was in SC (admittedly over 2 years ago), most of the BT stuff was available at silly prices.

From what I can see here, it looks like prices have only gotten sillier, which fits with the times.

I'm in SC and I've NEVER seen Blanton's or BT in a store. I asked for Eagle Rare once and he grabbed it from the back. It was $50, so about $20 too much. But then again I stopped "hunting" for this stuff. I did that with scotch and was determined not to do that with bourbon. I had someone give me a 375ml bottle of BT, it's too sweet for me (although I drank it all to be sure :D). Being in SC, I find most liquors seem a little more expensive by $10-$20 over MSRP for the low and middle range stuff.

    Let's see, $5000 for HH 27 or 3,762 bottles of Mellow Corn.....:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Huntings a fun way to kill time if you enjoy it, which I do, but I can see that not everyone would.

That happens in a lot of stores, I've seen BT for $50 or more which is ridiculous. Normally by me it hovers around $35 so I stopped buying it and went to Bowman Bros @ $30. Granted, I have the same 2-3 stores I frequent that haven't been slowly jacking up their prices.

Eagle Rare is still normally about $50 now, in 2019 it was $34. But, it's my favorite bourbon so I'm okay paying the $50 every now and then. The one's that crack me up are when I see Weller SR and Buffalo Trace for outrageous prices when they're the entry level stuff lol. Blanton's is $75-100 and there was only a period in the spring for a couple months that it wasn't to be found. Whenever I saw it for $80 I bought it. $20 over retail is well worth the headache in my opinion

I'd found my favorite so far bourbon in Evan Williams Single Barrel. It was out for a while, then a local had several, now it's out again. I asked the employee who just said it got popular and it's now hard to keep in stock. Great, just my luck! I guess I just don't feel like playing their games. :D So I will continue to enjoy EW BiB while changing it up every now and then when I see something different I want to try.

I'd sure like to get a Blantons just to have one. Maybe you can work something out for me since you have more luck? Not having much luck around my side of NC.

They said that wasn't the case last time they were out. But I don't know.
