I've done the strawtooth cover, but truthfully I've already though about having a solid panel premade in case the glass ever gets broken. Not sure how to get it measured out though. If you or someone were to get the dimensions from Vagabond That'd be sweet

I know Vagabond offers a rear solid panel as an option. If you're able to get ahold of VO you can likely order it instead of the window (if yours isn't built yet) or have it shipped out (maybe) or pick it up as a backup.

I haven’t heard of anyone getting a solid rear window replacement.

    here’s what I would do:
Remove one sheet metal screw from the “hinge”. Remove rubber/plastic piece holding said window in the hinge. Slide window out sideways. Take to a sign shop that deals with ePanel. Have them measure and cut you a piece of ePanel to replace the glass.
Remove more screws to remove glass from extruded, curved bender aluminum frame around glass. Place ePanel in. Reassemble in reverse order.

then realize that the t-handles are not very secure, so then reinforce that. Then lock the lid from opening like @cobes and I have been posting about with the hockey puck locks.

I have a solid rear panel on mine. Had them do that when it was being built instead of glass for security and privacy. I love it. It’s white E panel but the outside is wrapped black to match the rest of the camper38D05B0E-83B1-4E08-A404-BDF67BA85235.jpg

also have a solid rear panel (from vagabond) - although that was actually @Anderson (I brought it from him) I prefer it over a window, we live in socal so being inside the camper hanging out is not as much of a 'thing'

Thanks for the input all - I'll let you know what happens if I ever hear back from Vagabond. It's been about a week and still no word. We know how this game goes...

For those with a 3rd Gen that have your drifter...anything you did prior to install with the bed rail to prep? does the plastic cap remain on or removed for install?

I removed the bed caps and put a strip of aluminum tape down over the holes and ran a thick bead of silicone on top of the tape before re-installing the plastic caps. I also aluminum taped all of the holes from the cubby covers and rubber sprayed over top. Also siliconed the gaps between the bedside and front of the bed in the corners toward the cab. So far I’ve had zero water intrusions and I’ve driven in heavy rain and have power washed my truck a ton

Are those the sliding windows with screen? I would love to see some more pics if so! Can’t seem to find any pics with that type of window.

Vagabond has the Relentless Fabrication ones, depending on your vehicle (tacoma 2nd gen much needed - not so much 3rd gen)

can see here (kinda) - mostly just wanted to post a pic, not going to lie

Vagabond is no longer affiliated with or represented on TW. Got gripes? Please reach out to the manufacturer/company directly as they will not respond here. It sucks but it is what it is. We will keep the thread locked so others can see the shitshow but we’re shutting this show down.
