So I'm looking at getting new tires. The truck is my daily but I only put maybe 7,000 miles a year on it. They will see snow, rain and maybe light off roading. I only want one set of tires. I dont really want to switch over to snow tires. But we do get a decent amount of snow. I've driven on 6+ inches of snow before. The tires I'm mainly considering would be toyo at3, falken wildpeak and bfg k02. I'm wondering what have been your experiences and I'm open to other tire suggestions as well. Thanks in advance.

I've heard good things about the Falkens and the Toyos. Not so good things about the KO2s on anything that's not rock crawling, basically.

Personally, I use the Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S tires. I would have to say my driving habits match yours pretty similar, except I drive about 28k miles per year, mostly highway. But, living in Michigan, winter is very much a thing.

All 3 of those options would work well for your usage, you could also toss the Goodyear Ultra terrain into the mix. As a 3 peak mountain snow flake rated AT it would also serve you well. We can help a bit further. PM on the way.

In all honesty, all three of those are great tires with a good reputation and all trying to meet the same market and serve the same purpose.
I currently have the Toyos and ran the OG KOs before that.
When it came down to it, I went with the lightest tire in the size I wanted, which on paper was the Toyo.
Discount Tire has always done a good job at helping out too! So check them out.

I have always ran LT. while not necessary, it’s nice having the extra beefy tire and the ride seems fine to me.

Are you running stock rim size? I've been unable to find an lt in stock rim size.

No. I’m actually on 18” rims. But you can do one size above stock and get an LT. 265/75/16. I believe.

    Stock-ish
Been running Kenda Rts for 2 years/55k miles. They have been phenomenal on Washington's wet roads, snowy/icy highways, and more. I'd say they have probably 2/3rds more grip on wet roads/in snow than Duratracs.
Sounds like they would fit the bill, but they arent triple peak rated. So, could step over to their At2 which is, and I've heard they do even better on the plowed-ish snow covered highways.

Correct, most of the 3rd gen Tacoma's will accept the 265/75R16 or 265/70R17 with only minor modifications, usually only removing the mudflaps/air-dam. This is with stock wheels, aftermarket wheels may push the tire out far enough to have more severe rubbing.

How bad is the noise with those? 35s? I’m wanting to get 315/75/16s for mine but am worried the MT noise is too obnoxious for long drives.

You said snow and "light" offroading. I recommend the Yokohama Geolander G015. Has been a good tire for me.
